L17 is a Capstone Project for Reliability

(1) Provide the means for mainstreaming reliability findings and products

(2) Develop diverse ‘value of reliability’ messaging pieces

(3) Provide an accessible synthesis of reliability findings and products

(4) Develop a user-driven comprehensive Knowledge Transfer System (KTS)

(5) Develop reliability brand and a marketing plan for the KTS

The objectives of Project L17 are to:

Project structure and work flow

KTS Content

• Significant gaps exist in the current knowledge base

• Gap-filling projects are underway

• Interactive capabilities and real-time information will be very important to broad and frequent usage

KTS Development Activities

• The KTS is being built under the assumption that it will ultimately be part of a Center of Excellence

• The KTS will include:• Guidance and access to defining SO&M documents• Information on current and upcoming events• Presentation and talking point resources• User interaction opportunities• Case Studies and project profiles

• The KTS will need ongoing financial support

Messaging and the Brand Promise

• Products and services provided• manage traffic incidents• timely and accurate information

Post TETG Version

We promise travelers and shippers that we will manage traffic and incidents as well as provide timely and accurate travel information so that they can make informed decisions to minimize their unexpected delay and improve the safety of their travel.

• 11 gap-filling projects have been identified by the research team• 6 are recommended to be carried forward within

project budget and time constraints.• Persuasive SO&M/reliability Case Studies Briefing Book• Deployment Guidance for SO&M Strategies• SO&M Program and Budget Development• Standard Evaluation and Reporting Procedures• Synthesis on Valuing Travel Time Reliability• Key Sub-audience Business Case and Communication
