How does a Siberian husky survive the cold winter? A Siberian Husky has fur. It has 2 layers of warm fur. The inner layer helps to protect the skin from the harsh Arctic snowy winters. In the summer, the outer layer of fur shields the animal from the harsh sun by reflecting the heat.

It also has well-furred toes and strong claws that make it great for digging snow holes, which provide it with protection from strong winds.
