Growing up in Tonganoxie, Kansas I watched my single mother struggle to balance her career; us kids (man we were ornery!) and all the while none of us ever felt like we went without. Looking back I think she could have used some extra income and more importantly some extra time. She was always in my life imparting moral support; not just for me and my brothers, for her friends as well. All moms know how precious time is—and I know she could have used the extra time not only for us but for herself too. She worked hard to provide a fantastic life and I was blessed for it! I just wish I could have offered her a way to provide for her family on her own terms and at the same time empower herself and those around her. This is a huge part of my inspiration and a driving force behind Sideline Chic.

I could have taken the easy route and created a wholesale company, however, my fellow “chichers” know I LOVE a challenge! I created Sideline Chic to change lives. My husband and I had extremely successful careers and both of us could throw in the career towel at any time-but it’s not in my nature to sit on the sidelines of life! I was eager to start something special for myself, my family, and the women in my life. I want to give women the opportunity to change their lives and see their dreams become reality. If it is owning their own business, setting up a vacation fund, or just looking darn cute on game day…whatever the goal I want to see women get off the sidelines and get in the game!
