Sight Alignment Turn on the FastFire sight. Use the provided screwdriver to FIRST loosen the FastFire lock screws, THEN, using the windage & elevation screws, adjust the Red Dot to be directly “on” the barrel bead. You will want to be looking down the barrel rib as if you were shooting the shotgun when you are making the adjust- ments. (The SpeedBead system was designed such that the Red Dot will usually be viewed approximately 1/3 of the way up the glass window when sigthed in to correspond with the shotgun’s normal bead. If you choose to utilize the provided spacers, the red dot should be aligned the same distance above the shotgun’s bead as the thickness of the spacer used.) Tighten the lock screws. You are probably real close to sighted-in. Finish zeroing at the range. Operating Notes: The SpeedBead system is virtually parallax free. No matter where in the window the Red Dot appears, it always is where the shot is going. Do not be concerned if the Red Dot is not in the center of the window when shooting. Just get the Red Dot where you want it in relation to the target and take the shot. Spacers and longer screws are provided with your SpeedBead. The advantages of SpeedBead are increased with the SpeedBead window a little higher than the front bead because it allows you to see and lead rising targets faster and to engage them more accurately. For additional information about the FastFire sight, see the included FastFire II booklet. Be sure the gun is empty. It is best if you adjust the stock fit (cast and drop)before mounting the SpeedBead. You owners manual has excellent instructionsfor doing this. It is advisable to be familiar with these instructions beforemounting a SpeedBead under any circumstances.

1. Remove the butt pad. (Phillips Head)

2. Remove the stock, stock nut, plates & washer from thereceiver. (13mm deep soc)

3. At the front of the stock are the Drop & Cast spacers. Thedrop spacer has a molded on pin, you will need to cut orbreak the pin out of the spacer, leaving holes large enoughto fit over the pins on the SpeedBead. Put the Drop & Castspacers over the pins and against the rearsurface of the SpeedBead plate, in the correctorientation.

4. Slide the SpeedBead mount on to the front ofthe stock. (Note: The Drop & Cast spacers needto be between the SpeedBead and the stock.)

5. Remount the stock on the receiver. Be sure theSpeedBead pins engaged the receiver holes as thestock bolt is tightened. Tighten enough to squeezeall the gaps out from between the rear of thereceiver, the Plate, Drop & Cast spacers, and thestock.

6. Reinstall the butt pad.

7. Insert the long leg of the provided hex wrenchinto the Wedge Screw and firmly tighten it usingthe short leg. Slightly snug is plenty tight andwill also prevent scarring of the stock beneaththe SpeedBead mount.

8. Insert the battery into the bottom of the FastFire Sight. Mount theFastFire sight to the SpeedBead mount using the provided shortscrews and lock washers.

7. FastFire Sight AdjustmentsUse the provided screwdriver to FIRSTloosen the FastFire lock screws, THEN,using the windage & elevation screws, adjust the Red Dot to be directly "on"the barrel bead. Look down the barrelrib as if you were shooting the shotgunwhen making adjustments. The Speed-Bead system is designed such that the Red Dot is either right on theface of the shotgun’s bead or just slightly above the bead. If youchoose to utilize the provided spacers, the red dot should be alignedapproximately the same distance above the shotgun's bead as thethickness of the spacer. Tighten the lock screws. Finish zeroing at therange. For additional information about the FastFire sight, see theincluded FastFire II booklet.

8. Risers and longer screws are provided with your SpeedBead. Theadvantages of SpeedBead are increased with the SpeedBead windowa little higher than the front bead because it allows you to see and leadrising targets faster and to engage them accurately without coveringthem up. Choose either the 1/8" thick or 1/4" thick riser (or you canuse both for 3/8") and install on top of the SpeedBead mount.Note: If you are using risers place the soft gasket on top of the riserbefore installing the FastFire.

9. Insert the battery into the bottom of the FastFire Sight. Mount theFastFire sight to the SpeedBead mount using the provided shortscrews and lock washers when NOT using the risers, or the longscrews and lock washers when using the riser(s).

Operating Notes:The SpeedBead system is virtually parallax free. Once sighted-in, nomatter where in the window the Red Dot appears, wherever the Red Dotis pointed is where the shot pattern will go. Do not be concerned if theRed Dot is not in the center of the window when shooting. Just get theRed Dot where you want it in relation to the target and take the shot.

It is best if you adjust the stock fit (cast and drop) before mounting theSpeedBead. Your shotgun owners manual has excellent instructions for this.

1. Remove the recoil pad.

2. Remove the stock from the receiver. Between the receiver and the stockare one or more Drop & Cast spacers. The drop spacer has molded-onpins and is the one in front. If you use the "B" dropspacer (standard from the factory), leave it out duringreassembly. If you are using the "A", "C", or "Z" dropspacers, cut or drill the pins out of the spacer, leavingholes large enough to fit over the pins on the SpeedBead.Put the Drop & Cast spacers over the pins andagainst the rear surface of the SpeedBead plate in thesame orientation as they were prior to disassembly.

3. Slide the SpeedBead mount on to the front of the stock. You will need to compress the foam padding in order toinsert the pins in the stock holes. Be sure the pins enter theholes in the front of the stock.

4. Remount the stock on the receiver. Be sure the SpeedBeadpins engaged the receiver holes as the stock bolt is tightened.Tighten enough to squeeze all the gaps out from betweenthe rear of the receiver, the Plate, Drop & Cast spacers, and the stock.

5. Reinstall the recoil pad.

6. SpeedBead Base AlignmentUsing the hex wrench, tighten the Wedge Screw. Slightly snugis plenty tight and will prevent scarring of the stock beneath theSpeedBead mount.Position the soft gasket on top of the mounting block or optional riser, aligning the holes to the pins.

Put the FastFire Sight with battery installed on the SpeedBead Baseand hold the sight firmly down against the base. Turn on the FastFiresight. Shoulder the shotgun. The Red Dot should appear somewhereclose to the front bead or sight of the shotgun. If the Red Dot is wayabove or below the bead, remove the FastFire sight from the Speed-Bead base and tighten or loosen the Wedge Screw (tighten to lowerthe Red Dot, loosen to raise the Red Dot.) Hold the FastFire on theSpeedBead base and re-check for approximate alignment. Once youare satisfied with the alignment, (more precision final sighting is to bedone with the FastFire windage and elevation adjustments) fasten theFastFire sight to the base with the provided screws.
