LET’S GET ACQUAINTED!

CRAFT BEER TASTING & BREWERY TOURCome Join us for some pre-Welcome Party fun!

Tin Whiskers Brewing Company, a local brewery, will host our SayWhatClub Convention attendees with a large reserved table, a private tour of their brewing facility, and a 10 oz. pour of beer for each member of the group. Tin Whiskers is located 3 short blocks from the DoubleTree, our convention hotel—a leisurely walk—with a taproom boasting lots of windows, high ceilings & house craft drafts.

For those who would like to have a snack or eat dinner along with enjoying craft brews, Tin Whiskers shares a building with Black Sheep Pizza and Sawatdee Thai, and both deliver directly to the taproom as food options. Black Sheep Pizza is a local favorite — featured on Andrew Zimmern's TV show—specializing in casual pizza, turning out coal-fired, thin-crust specialty pies; a great pairing with a craft brew. Non-alcoholic beverages include water (no charge), Coke, Diet Coke, Root Beer, and a rotating house soda (available for purchase). Not a beer connoisseur or not interested in the tour? Come to share a slice of pie or an egg roll with friends and to get acquainted. We can guarantee some laughs and good company. What a great way to kick-start an awesome SWC Convention prior to our Welcome Party at the DoubleTree Hotel at 7:00 p.m.!

WELCOME PARTY AT DOUBLETREE HOTEL

ROARING '20s EVEINING AT A SPEAKEASYSecret password to gain entry, what?

St Paul was a safe haven for gangsters in the '20s as long as they committed no crimes here. It was also a playground for F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald and their literary friends. Gloria Swanson was a frequent guest at the Commodore Hotel. St. Paul was a swinging place.

We will welcome you in style at our own speakeasy, legal now. Costumes, period attire, hats, simple and elaborate are encouraged, but not required. Enjoy light appetizers and beverages; hard stuff will be available in the adjacent bar. Door prizes and fun! Meet other convention attendees and register for the convention, all at the speakeasy.

SAINT PAUL GANGSTER TOUR

WABASHA STREET CAVES

Come join our fellow SayWhatClubbers on an exciting tour through one of St. Paul's most unique attractions, the Wabasha Street Caves! Embark on a thrilling journey and explore with us the sites of nightclubs, kidnappings, and gun battles associated with the 1930's gangsters like John Dillinger, Ma Barker and Babyface Nelson. See the sights where gangsters lived it up as they planned and executed some of the most notorious crimes ever perpetrated in the upper Midwest. Your guide — in character as either a nefarious gangster hood or his moll — takes you past the most infamous gangster hideouts and the famous nightclubs where many gangsters spent time socializing with the public.

Bus transportation is provided for this tour and will pick up SayWhatClub attendees from the DoubleTree Downtown hotel; loading will begin between 1:40 and 1:45 p.m. Once the tour is over, the bus will drop us back at the convention hotel.

A minimum of 25 people is needed for this event, so be sure to reserve early!
