Signa Academy delivers targeted skills development and learning programmes aligned to the requirements of the B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice. South Africa needs a qualified population that is not only able to secure jobs, but is also able to establish new ventures for self-employment. The establishment of learnerships is pivotal to solving the skills shortage in South Africa. The South African government has provided numerous tax benefits to incentivise companies to engage in learnerships. The Signa Academy solution combines the benefits of learnerships, tax benefits and skills growth. Signa Academy offers courses that promote economic self-sustainability to disadvantaged individuals, through a group solution to our clients. The majority of our learners are disabled. Training is delivered nationally on the Signa Academy campuses. Learners are supported to develop an individual career path to ensure self-fulfilment and secure future economic participation. Section 12 of the TAX Act No 58 of 1962 supports Job Creation, promotes Skills Development and encourages Human Capacity Development. It enforces the point that Skills Development responsibility must be shared between Government and the Private Sector. Job Creation can only be achieved sustainably if people are sufficiently educated.
