PopocatpetlA warrior and HeroThis warrior was in love with a princess named Iztacchuatl and she was also in love with him too. Her father said that he can have Iztacchuatl as a wife if he goes out in battle and comes back victorious. Popocatpetl goes to battle, but the father told Iztacchuatl that he died in battle. Depressed by this discovery she dies. Popocatpetl was victorious but comes back to find Iztacchuatl dead, so he does suicide. The gods took pity and turn Iztacchuatl to a snowed mountain for her slumber and turns Popocatpetl into the volcano for his rage.Many other stories with differences

CHICOMECCATL: a headdress, and ears of maize or sometimes she is a young woman with flowers, sometimes a woman whose embrace with death, and sometimes a women with the sun as a shield.They are honored in order to encourage the growth of cornYoung girls (virgins) would be sacrificed for them
