SILENT AUCTION LOCATIONS

Bid winners will be listed on the TV screens in Carriage Drive and the Music Hall Foyer at the end of the Awards Ceremony.

Buy It Now (BIN)You have the opportunity to purchase a Silent Auction item at a pre-set price (noted on the bid sheet). By signing the BIN box on the bid sheet, you have instantly secured the item. If something piques your interest and you don’t want to risk losing it, Buy It Now! This guarantees you will take the item home with you.

Check-Out Procedure1. After the awards ceremony, check the item bid sheet and/ or the TV screens to see which items you have won.

2. Take the “you won” slip from the clipboard to the FOUNDERS ROOM and pay for your items. The check-out person will stamp “paid” on the slip.*

3. Return to the auction table and show your paid receipt to the staff member at the table to pick up your item.

*If you have purchased more than one item, Carnegie Science Center staff will assist you in gathering your items.

AUCTION RULESYou have the opportunity to purchase a Silent Auction item at a set Buy It Now price.

1. All sales are final. No exchanges, refunds, or cancellations.

2. Payment may be made by cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or check payable to Carnegie Institute.

3. All auction items must be removed from Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh by 10:30 pm the evening of the event.

4. All items in the Silent Auction have bid sheets attached or nearby. Anyone wishing to bid must do so by clearly writing his/her name and bid amount on the next blank line available.

5. The value of items contributed for the auction has been determined by the donors and is not warranted by the committee for tax purposes or general value.

6. The Auction Chairs and Carnegie Science Center make no representations as to the value of the items. All items are offered in “as is” condition.

7. The buyer waives any claims for liability against either Carnegie Science Center or the contributor. Neither Carnegie Science Center nor the donor is responsible for any personal injuries or damages to property that may result from the use of property or services sold.

8. Check gift certificates for expiration dates and restrictions that may apply.

9. Gift certificates may not be redeemed for cash.

10. Carnegie Science Center is not responsible for making any reservations. All reservations are subject to space availability and are to be arranged at the mutual convenience of the donor and the purchaser.

11. Catalog descriptions are for convenience only. Carnegie Science Center and the Auction Chairs are not responsible for errors in description, authenticity, or conditions of goods donated.

12. Carnegie Science Center reserves the right to enforce the minimum bid price and may withdraw from the auction any item for which the highest bid has not reached a satisfactory level.
