Silicon Energy’s Cascade Series is not your typical module. It is one of the strongest, safest, most durable, and longest lasting modules on the market and it is made in the USA. Strength - The Cascade’s certified load rating is 125 psf (pounds per square foot) giving it the strength needed for high wind and snow load environments. Safety - The Cascade’s Class-A fire rating, combined with its fully enclosed wiring system provides a level of safety unmatched by other modules and mounting systems. Durability - The Cascade’s exceptional field performance history, durability results in NREL (National Renewable Energy Laboratory) Test- To-Failure testing and its industry leading 30- year warranty provide investment confidence for customers and contractors. Attractive and Adaptable - The Cascade is more attractive and adaptable than standard modules. Its double-glass, open-framed cascading design allows light passage creating unique opportunities for building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) applications such as window awnings, carports, shelters and electric vehicle charging stations – in addition to traditional rooftop and ground-mount installations. In 2007, Silicon Energy set out to manufacture an innovative solar photovoltaic (PV) module that was attractive, durable, very safe, and made in the USA.
We started out with a simple question- Why are PV modules made the way they are? Decades of research conducted by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and the Fraunhofer Institute provided invaluable insights into the challenges of making a durable PV module.
Equipped with this knowledge, our engineers set out to address these challenges. After nearly two years of combining emerging material science, evolving industry best manufacturing practices and a little bit of luck, our team designed and produced the first Cascade Series PV module.
As a result, residential, commercial, utility, and military customers now have a PV product that is attractive, very safe and exceptionally durable.
The Cascade has now proven itself in a variety of harsh environmental conditions in multiple states.
Quite simply, the Cascade’s quality, performance and energy harvest is unmatched in the PV industry giving contractors and customers confidence in their investment.
