that they use. Some of

Mixmag have a running theme of advertising IBIZA in the summer months.
This happens through
including bright colours, good looking
models, hit DJ artists,
and the word IBIZA used as a large subheading across the
page.

Some of the story lines from
Mixmag not only include
clubbing destinations and artist
line – ups, they also sometimes
include serious issues that are
involved with night life and
clubbing – especially whilst on
holiday. The magazine goes out of its
what to conduct drug use
surveys by party – goers and
holiday stop outs. These articles
are featured in some of their
magazines to raise awareness
and try and show people the
facts about these situations!

Obviously though, the
most common story lines of this dance and
clubbing music magazine is Clubbing
music, new DJs, holiday destinations to
party, and interviews
with famous and touring artists.

My magazine, Antidote
also includes similar
story lines in conjunction with those
of Mixmag. The subheadings that I have used include: Top
10 clubbing destinations, The opening of a new bar,
Festival survival tips
etc.

In contrast to Mixmag
magazine, Antidote features
stories of up and coming
artists that people have barely
heard of yet; In comparison however, it also
includes an interview with a
‘world class’ DJ. I tried to replicate some of the
features that would be used in
a Mixmag magazine but also
change some of the major
aspects to make it my own.
Such as the layout and style of
images that I use.
Sty
le
Antidote has a running theme of
the colours orange and black. Not
only does this replicate the dark,
night time atmosphere it also links
to the bright, exactingness that
people experience whilst on a
night out clubbing. This was purposely done to
achieve this idea. Even though, I
did change some aspects of my
magazine. The orange was
originally a lime green. I changed
this in order to match the new
image that I chose, once I decided
that the previous one wasn’t the
right look that I was going for.

Story lines from Antidote are similar to
those of the similar magazine Mixmag, they involve desitinations to go
clubbing – and listen
to dance and clubbing
styled music. This ranges from festivals –
Antidote, to beach raves – Mixmag.
Sim

The audiences for both
magazines remain the
same – as well as the
other physical components. These being people from the
ages 18 to 30 years old
with an interest in nightlife, clubbing, Ibiza,
holiday destinations and
mainly – dance and clubbing styled music.
