SIMILE
A Simile is a comparison between two unlike things that
have something in common.
It uses the words like or as to make a comparison.
EXAMPLES:
He eats like a pig.My hands are as cold as
ice.
She is as pretty as a princess.
Love is like a lemon: either bitter or sweet.
METAPHOR
A Metaphor is directly comparing two unlike
things that have something in common
without using the words like or as.
EXAMPLES:
The forest was a dark and frightening
battlefield.You are the light in my
life.A blanket of snow
covered the streets.
