Rosé

Rosé is a dry wine which is most often produced from red grape varietals that have been crushed and their skins are allowed a short time in contact with the freshly pressed juice. The skins are then removed and the wine is left with a lovely pink hue. Each varietal produces a different range of color, from a very pale pink to a brilliant deep fuchsia – the longer the skins are left in contact with the juice, the more intense the color of the final wine. Since the skins contain much of the astringent tannins in wine, when those skins are discarded the structure of the wine becomes more similar to a white wine. Rosé is excellent with a vast array of foods, reasonably priced and are wonderful year-round. Enjoy!
