myinventory application myinventory application installation files Please see below a typical myinventory installation package, in this case Version 7.21.

• 120718_ indicate the date when the application was compiled • 7.21 indicate the myinventory application Version which must always match with the installed

mymicros Version! • .1407 indicate the Database Version • The numbers between 7.21 and .1407 indicate the build number • 7.21 and .1407 should be the same at all applications at one version package

Installation of Windows components

Internet Information Service (IIS) Following components are required at IIS (below is based on Windows Server 2003) Please go to Start | Settings | Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs and select Add/Remove Windows Components

myinventory application and WebService Please create below folders at C:\Inetpub for the myinventory application and WebService

• C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\myinventory • C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\myinventoryWebService

• Copy the content of the myinventory application installation files to C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\myinventory\ • Copy the content of the myinventory configuration installation files to C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\myinventory\ • Unzip the Infragistics files (which are part of the myinventory application zip file) and copy the infragistics

folder to C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\aspnet_client\ myinventory application and configuration

You can double-check the myinventory application version by opening C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\myinventory\version with a text editor.

Database Updater Unzip the myinventory Database Updater and install the application by double-clicking “setup.exe”. At below screen click on “Next”

Adjust the installation path if needed by using “Change”, i.e. from

• C:\Program Files\myInventory Database Updater\ to • C:\Program Files\myinventory Database Updater\

and click on Next

Enter any “dummy” connection at SQLNet Connection name as it will be configured later. Click on “Next” to proceed.

Below message can be ignored as the SQLNet Connection Name was not filled correctly on purpose. Please select “Next”.

Please “Browse…” for the etc.dll which has been delivered to the person who has placed the Order with Order entry.

Select the etc.dll file followed by “Open” and click on “Next”

Confirm the Default Icons Settings and click on “Next”

Click on “Finish” to close the installer.

MIA2 Please unzip the installation files of the MIA2 Service. Install the myinventory Automation2 Service called “MIA2” by double-clicking “setup.exe” Click at the installation wizard Welcome Screen on “Next” to start.

If required change the Installation Folder otherwise leave the Default settings and click on “Next”

Click on “Close” to finish the installer.

MSSQL Server Management Studio Open MSSQL Server Management Studio (i.e. SQL Server Authentication with sa\xxxxxxx) to identify the Organization Short Name.

You will find the Organization Short Name at COREDB.CORE_ORGANIZATION.organizationShortName. It is mandatory that the myinventory Database is called exactly the same as the Organization Short Name otherwise the users cannot login into myinventory through mymicros.

Creation of a MSSQL myinventory Database

Create Database Right click at “Databases” “New Database…”

• Change the “Database Name” to “Simphony” (must be the same as the OrganizationShortName)

Restore Database Right click at “Databases” and select “Tasks” “Restore” “Database” “To database” must be the same as the Organization Short Name which is in this case Simphony Select “From Device” and browse to the myinventory standard MSSQL “xxx.bak” file. If not available please contact the EAME Product Management for myinventory and/or [email protected]

Please ensure that only “Overwrite the existing database” is selected at Options.

• Adjust emptdg_Data & emptdg_Log and ensure that the right folders at “Restore As” are selected • The folder should be ideally the same as used for Simphony .mdf´s to ensure that everything is on the

same place and backed up together. • The .mdf and .ldf should also contain the Organization Short Name to identify them easily. • “Leave the database ready to use by rolling back…” must be selected

Confirm settings by clicking on “OK”

A successful message will be shown when the restore is completed.

Security Right click at Security and select “New” At General page

• Login Name must be the same as the Organization Short Name which is in this case Simphony • “SQL Server authentication” must be selected

o “The Password” must be written in capitals otherwise the MIA2 will run into an error at startup (SCR23876 – Version 8.00 and higher should allow Case Sensitive)

The password is in this example “MICROS2012MI” Please ensure to define a customer specific password

• Remove the “Enforce password policy” which is selected by default • “Default Database” must be the Organization Short Name which is in this case Simphony • “Default Language” must be English

MICROS2012MI (Please note that the password must be in capitals with MSSQL as a Case Sensitive password might cause an issue at MIA2 start) If MIA2 shows below error on Start up (and MIA2 is not starting / directly stopping) it´s due to the Case Sensitive password

ODBC Connection configuration Go to Windows | Start | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Data Sources (ODBC) and select “System DSN” followed by “Add…” Please Note: When using Windows Server 2008R2 or any other 64-Bit Operating System please start the “Data Sources (ODBC)” by double clicking on C:\windows\syswow64\odbcad32 otherwise the connection at the myinventory Database Updater might fail.

Select as Data Source driver “SQL Server” and click on “Finish”

Enter the Organization Short Name at “Name” and “Description”. Select and/or enter the Server Name of the MSSQL Server in this case “2003DSSQL2005” Click on “Next”

Select “With SQL Server authentication…” and flag “Connect to SQL Server…” Enter at “Login ID” the Organization Short Name which is in this case “Simphony” Enter the Password which you have inserted before at “Security” in this case “MICROS2012MI” and click on “Next”

Configuration of Database Updater sql.ini Please open the “sql.ini” file which can be found at C:\Program Files\myinventory Database Updater\ with a Text Editor In here you find a section called [win32client.dll] please ensure that it looks like shown below. The first line must contain “comdll=sqlodb32” [win32client.dll] comdll=sqlodb32 ;comdll=sqlapipe ;comdll=sqlwsspx ;comdll=sqlntnbi ;comdll=sqlws32 ;comdll=sqlora32 At the end of the sql.ini we must have a section called [odbcrtr] The first line must be “remotedbname=Simphony,DSN=Simphony” while Simphony must match with the Organization Short Name [odbcrtr] remotedbname=Simphony,DSN=Simphony

Hosts file myinventory must always be a subdomain of mymicros otherwise the login through mymicros will not work. If a customer does not own a public URL and therefore a subdomain for myinventory we must simulate that by modifying the host entries at each PC which must connect to mymicros/myinventory. After a successful synchronization please login again with the mymicros user and click on the Side Menu/Portlet myinventory. If you get below screen everything has been configured correctly. You are potentially not seeing any Classic Menu icons as the User/Role does not have any rights for any modules.

Login directly into myinventory (bypassing mymicros by using http://localhost:8000/myinventory) and assign User/Role rights to Sys Admin group and others.
