Simple Origami Brachiosaurus Donya Quick
Difficulty: easy.
Recommended paper: strong, easy to shape.
These instructions show how to make a simple Brachiosaurus. Most of the steps are
simple, with step 18 being slightly harder. Paper used for this model should be easy to
shape while still being strong enough to hold its final form without collapsing.
Steps 1 – 3: fold and unfold along the lines shown.
Steps 4 – 6: rabbit ear fold both sides inwards, then fold the back flap down. Fold the
lower, front flap up using the triangle formed by existing creases as a guide.

Steps 7 – 8: squash fold both sides into the middle, then fold the back flap up.
Steps 9 – 10: turn the model over and fold the front flap down. Crease the lower flap
lightly. This crease is to form a guide only.

Steps 11 – 13: squash fold the edges into the creases made in step 10. Fold the side flaps

Steps 14 – 15: fold the flaps outward (there is no guide for this fold). Inside reverse fold
on both sides.
Steps 16 – 18: fold the model in half, then crimp fold the neck back. Form the head by
unfolding some excess layers of paper while crimping. There are multiple ways to
accomplish a suitable shape for the head. Any approach resulting in something that looks
like the figure in step 19 is fine.

Steps 19 – 20: fold the tip of the nose in and shape the head. Fold the tips of the legs
underneath and shape along curved lines. Rounding the body will help shape the legs.
