Start with a plain assessment sheet with the full assessment grid for your unit.

Copy the assessment criteria word for word.

Paste this into your feedback section.

Include the criteria at the end of the sentences in reduced format – Unit 5 Pass 1 becomes (U5 P1)

Then add to the sentences to explain how students have achieved criteria.

Put ticks next to the criteria as you go along.

Keep adding information to the sentences to cover all the other criteria.

Connect the sentences to make paragraphs that explain your decisions.

Then do the same for the Merit criteria, explaining how these have or havn’t achieved the criteria.

Where students havn’t achieved then use a strikethrough on the criteria to make it easy see.

Put an X in the box and underline what the student hasn’t done.

Keep doing this until all the criteria has been covered.

Then start adding any other comments that would support the student’s development.

Finally, include actions for the student to take if they want to improve the grade.
