Global Cybersecurity Innovation Summit
@SINETCONNECTION #SINETUK
SINET presents
Supported by Her Majesty’s Government and The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Science & Technology Directorate
3
May 16, 2017
Dear Participants,
I would like to welcome you to the Third Annual Global Cybersecurity Innovation Summit (GCIS). We are honored to have the support of Her Majesty’s Government (HMG) and The United States Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate (DHS S&T), as we provide a platform for the business of Cybersecurity to take place. In particular, the opportunity for Small and Medium Enterprises to connect with key Government, industry, system integration, investment, academic and International decision makers from the American, British, European and Global Cybersecurity markets.
SINET was created to advance innovation and enable global collaboration between the public and private sectors to defeat Cybersecurity threats. Whether you’re a builder, buyer, investor or researcher, there is something for everyone, regardless of where your organization is in its lifecycle. As you attend the sessions and networking gatherings during the next two days, take a moment to look around and meet the leaders in the room who are focused on a mission, have a sense of purpose and are committed to moving the Cybersecurity agenda forward.
Over the last three years, I have seen great strides by the British community in their support of the small business community through increased investments, government assistance, and growth of more entrepreneurial companies. I am confident that our program will also be able to help advance innovation within the global Cybersecurity market.
I would like to extend a special thank you to HMG and DHS S&T as well as our speakers, sponsors and steering committee who contributed greatly to making the GCIS a success.
Thank you for joining us as we continue to build global communities of interest and trust that support the advancement of innovation as well as the higher calling: the national security and economic interests of our respective countries. Only when we take risks, can we truly alter the world…
Sincerely,
Robert D. Rodriguez Chairman & Founder SINET
Thank You to Our Generous Sponsors

What Are the barriers and opportunities to a european information sharing Program?Abstract: The topic of Cyber Security Information Sharing (e.g. Threat Intelligence) is top of mind in many organizations driven by community members, operationalized by more upcoming so-called Information Sharing and Analysis Centers with various motivations behind (non-profit and commercial) and as well a discipline many commercial technology and service vendors claim to leverage for benefit of their customers.
What are the goals, motivating factors and inhibitors the C-roles like Chief Information Security Officer, Chief Information Officer, Chief Risk Officer, etc. face when deciding to participate? What are driving factors for decisions on which approach to take or organization to join? What are the roles of governments and regulators? Does competition affect robust information sharing? And after all… what are proven ways to evaluate the level of success and justification of investment?
Could a European approach become a Game Changer and if so what would it take? These renowned subject matter experts will share their experience and address some inconvenient questions regarding cooperation and how they manage, leverage and progress topics around Cyber Security Information Sharing.

blockchain: Can blockchain be trusted both technologically and operationally and Will it ever mature from the experimentation Phase?Abstract: There have been a lot of talks on blockchain being the holy grail providing a trusted ledger from tracking fine art to trade settlement. Even most of the technologists and commentators do not realize the trust does not apply to the data itself. Blockchain will merely provide an immutable recording of what has been input; it does not give you extra confidence in whether the record is correct in the first place. In this panel discussion, we will explore the readiness of the technology and extra security measures one has to deploy for mission critical implementations.

Autonomous VehiclesAbstract: Now that cars are connected they are subject to the same potential vulnerabilities as other networked devices. This is likely to become more of a challenge as vehicles become automated. Like the Internet of Things, managing this will involve a significant and coordinated effort. Unlike many other parts of the Internet of Things, vehicles operate in safety critical environments. How should we approach these challenges to ensure the vehicles of the future are secure by design?

innovation Program: incubators, Clusters and Accelerators— What Works, What does not?Abstract: As criminal organizations and state-sponsored hackers continue to penetrate our network defenses, senior government officials, C-suite executives and the general public are demanding faster innovation from their security providers. Keeping pace with a well-funded adversary requires solution providers to streamline the insertion of innovative technologies into their existing and emerging platforms. However, much of the innovation in security is coming from geographic ecosystems that are different than what are considered to be traditional centers of information technology innovation. This dislocation slows the insertion of innovative security approaches into the existing supply chain.
