Singapore
How Singapore use to be....
It was not until 1965 that Singapore became an independent republic.
Before this time Singapore was run by the British as it became a British port starting in 1819. After World War
II Singaporeans were still ruled by the British until they merged with the Federation of Malaya to form Malaysia
in 1963, it was not long after that they withdrew themselves and became an independent republic with their
own government.
Singapore's first ever Prime minister was Lee Kwan Yew,
It was after all of this that Singapore became one of the cleanest, safest and one of the most economically
prosperous cities in Asia and to this day it still holds that streak.
