Sioux Falls LightHouseAs you know, the Pahl family continues to be committed to a strong and growth oriented future for J.H. Larson Company.

Two years ago, J.H. Larson purchased Hutt Electric Supply located in Abbotsford, WI. However, the Abbotsford location can no longer brag about being the “baby of the family.” On November 29, J.H. Larson completed the purchase of Sioux Falls Light-House, LLC. Sioux Falls LightHouse is a high-end lighting showroom that was founded in 2014 by Jeff and Kari Wagner. The showroom features many of the lighting product lines we offer at the other J.H. Larson lighting showrooms, Pahl’s Designer Showrooms and Lappin Lighting. Many of the lighting vendors are new to J.H. Larson.

Jeff, along with his four-person showroom team consisting of Cari Lindner (Showroom Manager), Paula Kruetzfeldt (Designer), Teresa Wagner Surrell (Showroom Associate) and Tarah Myer (Showroom Associate). The showroom has also been re-branded as Sioux Falls LightHouse, a Division of Pahl’s Designer Showrooms.

In addition to the traditional decorative lighting products offered by most lighting showrooms, Sioux Falls LightHouse also offers high-end designer services which features lighting, accessories, carpet, tile, furniture and other related items. Long-term plans for the showroom include the introduction of plumbing fixtures, some of which will be displayed in the showroom.

Please welcome Jeff and his team to the J.H. Larson family!

Great Story!A follow-up to a previous story… Justin Kastanos (Inside Sales) received an unexpected but gratifying e-mail from the organization where he donated his hair a year ago. The organization has a year-end get-to-gether inviting all the year’s recipi-ents. In the e-mail was a picture of the young lady who received the wig made from Justin’s donation.

HolidaysIn addition to our other holiday events, we also hosted the Annual Holiday Party Casino Night for the NCELpluggedIN group with about 70 members attending. HudsonTeam Building We had a corn hole tournament September through October for a team building activity. It was a fun tourna-ment and a great way to bond with our coworkers! Jeff Hawkins (Counter Sales) and Dallas Widgren (Ware-house) took home the trophy! To wrap it up, we headed out after work to celebrate.

Elite TrainingGina Paulson, Gina French, Ron Lubinski and Jeff Stoner heading to LA for Elite Training. They learned a lot and thought it was well worth it.

Happy HourThanks to everyone that could make it to our Halloween happy hour. It was great to connect with everyone outside of work!

Happy Birthday!Derrick Peterson (Inside Sales) celebrated the BIG 50 in December. Of course we had to let everyone know it was his birthday by decorating his cube!

AbbotsfordFootball SeasonThe Abbotsford Falcon Football Team went 9-0 to win its second straight conference championship. The Falcons went on to compete in the level 4 playoff game losing a close one to Eau Claire Regis just one step away from playing in the State Championship game. Abbotsford’s very own Lee Schreiber (Inside Sales) had a son playing on the team. Reiley Schreiber #70 is a freshman at Abbotsford High School, here he is pictured after their terrific season's final game!

Sioux Falls LightHouseNew EmployeeIn addition to the current employees of Sioux Falls LightHouse, we would also like to welcome Cari Lindner to the J.H. Larson Company! She is the Showroom Manager. Welcome!

Get to know some of the Sioux Falls Lighthouse Employees!

Hello, I’m Paula, AKA “talls” ( I’m 5’2”). I am married to my husband, Ralyn (SF Builder) of 23 years. We have two children, Derrick (21) and Darby (18). I also have two bonus children: Bonus son, Kelly, Project Manager for SF builder (AKA dad), married to Amy, an Interior Designer. They have given us two amazing grandsons, Daxson and Maveryke. Bonus daughter, Kara, Graphic Designer, husband Shawn (diesel mechanic, WHAT????) and princess granddaughter, Elliott. To round out the family, we also have a Yorkie puppy, Bentley Ray.

I am an Interior Designer here at the Lighthouse. I am 25 + 25 Years old. I attended SDSU and have a degree in Interior Design. I have made Sioux Falls my home and have been practicing commercial and residential design here for 25+ years. I love to travel, sing, entertain and spend time with family and friends. My favorite color is Purple ( the color of royalty) followed closely by green (the color of money).

I’m excited to get to know the rest of the J.H. team. Those I have met have been gracious, kind, genuine and helpful. Thank you for making us feel welcomed.

Hi!I’m Tarah Meyer, aka “T” or “Smalls” if you’re Paula. I was born and raised on the family farm and am fortunate enough to still live there! I am 20 years old and love to travel, help on the farm and spend time with my friends and big family which includes my parents, Dean and Linda, and my three brothers, Alvie (& Alice and their two adorable kids, Kasha and Brayden) Jacob (and Hannah), and little brother, Blake. I also have one sister, Lanna (and Drew and their little cutie, Kortlen). I studied Interior Design in a year-long program this past year and loved it! I am now thrilled to use my education in our lighting/design industry.

I enjoy meeting new people & building lifelong relationships. I’m looking forward to getting to know many of you and working with you!

Sioux FallsNew EmloyeesThe Sioux Falls Branch took a hit when three warehouse employees left pretty much around the same time, but we are very lucky to have found two super new employees! We are pleased to welcome Camden Wohlers and Anthony Vernlund to the J.H. Larson family!

Fish FryOn October 3rd John Gaspar (outside salesman) hosted a Fish Fry at his house for the branch employees. It was a gorgeous evening with delicious food and interesting conversations.

ThanksgivingOur annual Thanksgiving Luncheon was held on November 17th and was a huge success once again serving 325 hungry Contractors and Electricians.

WatertownNew BabyOn January 11th, Sheila Stahl (Operations Manager) welcomed her new great-grandson into the world! Jaxon James was 9lbs and 20” long. Congratulations!

ThanksgivingEvery year, we have a Thanks-giving feast catered for ourselves and our customers. This year's turnout was great (with the exception of a pan of turkey plunging to its death on the floor). Thankful-ly, our caterers came to the rescue and brought us a brand new pan. We were so THANKFUL!

Winter is HereWinters in South Dakota can be extremely harsh with our high winds! Someone who can really testify that is one of our drivers, Glen Olene. As he was trying to deliver all of the best products our industry can provide, poor Glen got stranded in Onida South Dakota nearly 3 hours away from home base! He did manage to find a warm bed and cold drink though so it wasn't too traumatic. We are glad he got home safe and sound the following day!

Elite TrainingSome of our employees got to fly out to Los Angeles, California and attend the Elite factory tour and training. Attending this event was Charlie Hendrickson (Branch Manager), Sandy Martin (Quotations), Rich Schroeder (Outside Sales) and Dustin Allen (Outside Sales). Although we would love to share a picture of all 4 of them together, we’re told such evidence does not exist. BUT they did manage to get a picture of the beautiful palm trees that are sure to make us all jealous. Is it time to move out west or what?!

FairmontFootball UpdateCongratulations to Brady Selnes (City Desk) and the South Central Hawgs! The Hawgs are now the 9-man National Champions after they defeated the Albany Scallywags 45-20.

PotluckOn November 23rd the branch held a potluck. We all brought our favorite pig-out food and ate hearty all day.

Fishing Fun?Aaron Hartmann (Inside Sales) went ice fishing December 19th and 20th on Lake of the Woods. There was plenty of ice but no fish.

Success!Kim Harris (Inside Sales) has made it through one more Christmas without a stove. Way to go!

Eau Claire & HaywardRinging in the New!November was a month of change here in Eau Claire; Calvin Ekern, our Showroom Manager, left J.H. Larson to pursue a new job opportunity with one of our customers, and Melody Gray, formerly of Wiersgalla, Inc., (for 10 years) stepped in to fill his shoes. Melody comes to us with 20 years of experience in the plumbing field and is making a smooth transition to our showroom. Thanks to Kim McMahon (Show-room Associate) for showing her the ropes and keeping things flowing smoothly during the transition.

Elite TrainingMatt Beckman (Inside Sales), along with Josh Geissler (Outside Sales) and Randy Rieder (Outside Sales) were able to attend the Elite Lighting training seminar. They came back much more educated on the new innovations in lighting and also a little jet-lagged. They said it was a great learning experience (and we’re sure the warm weather didn't hurt anything at all)!

Lappin LightingDonationsWe once again collected for Toys for Tots and the Animal Humane Society. Thanks to the generous tenants in our building! It was a successful event!

Fun Neighborhood! The North Loop district where we are located is continuing to grow with lots of new shops, restaurants, apartments and a new hotel called the Hewing. We enjoyed breakfast there a few weeks ago, and it is a beautiful and cozy space!

Eclipse Tricks & Tips • OE CREATE SHIPMENTWith the last release, there is a new option on the Status tab of the order called Create Shipment. This option will be very useful if you have a large order and the customer only wants to have part of it shipped at certain time. Instead of going to the Detail Scheduling screen, you can use the Create Shipment screen instead. When on the Status tab, go to Ship -> Create Shipment and this box will open. You can also create a button if you would like. If you have multiple gens, you will need to make sure you are on the gen you want to ship product from.

From this screen, you can create your shipment. You can select to ship full quantities by checking the box of the prod-ucts you want or if partial quantities are requested, you put in the quantity you want. This screen is also sortable, so if you click on Product Description, you can sort that column. In this example, I am going to request all of the ALM products to ship and some of the HND. I checked the boxes for the ALM products and entered the quantity of the HND product that I want.

Next you will click on Create Shipment. The next box to pop up will be the New Shipment Creation where you will put in the New Required Date, Ship Date and Ship Status and click OK.

Once you click OK, a new generation will be created for this shipment. Proceed with the order as normal.
