SIPPO is a mandate from the State Secretariat for Economic
Affairs of Switzerland (SECO), carried out by Osec. The pro-
gramme supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
from emerging markets and markets in transition to access the
Swiss and European markets. On the other hand, SIPPO helps
Swiss and European importers to find suitable partners in
emerging countries and countries in transition.
The programme has five main goals:• To inform the Swiss and European import economy about new
market sources
• To strengthen trade institutions and business sector associa-
tions in the trade promotion process
• To increase the competitiveness of SMEs in selected partner
countries
• To develop the manufacturing and exporting skills of SMEs in
selected partner countries
• To establish qualified trade contacts between SMEs from
emerging markets and markets in transition and the Swiss and
European import economy

The AgBiz Program is funded by the United States Agency for
International Development (USAID) and implemented by the
ARD, Inc. It is a four-year program that started the Macedonian
operations in March 2007.
Since then, AgBiz Program has been providing a range of serv-
ices to Macedonian agribusinesses to enhance their competi-
tiveness in regional and global markets. The overall mission of
AgBiz is to increase economic growth in Macedonia through
expanded, sustainable production and sale of value-added agri-
cultural products, achieved by enhancing the ability of producers
and processors to compete regionally and globally.
The goal of the Program is to enable agribusinesses to identify,
understand and sustainably enter export markets for value-add-
ed products; enhance market linkages between producers, proc-
essors and traders; improve business management, operations
and competitiveness; to achieve greater incomes for agricultural
producers and processors; and to create new employment op-
portunities.

region of south east Macedonia. There the excellent climate per-

enterprise has a good experience of exporting their high quality
agricultural products to the region and to central Europe. The top
product of AGROLOZAR is the seedless mini watermelon
Bambolino. Besides that the company produces table grapes
and different varieties of peaches. AGROLOZAR also has a
professional packing plant where their production is handled
following European norms or as per customers wish.

ALTRA has been involved since 1990 in processing fruits and
vegetables. The production volumes have grown continuosly
since then. ALTRA does freezing of fruits and vegetables, in-
cluding: sorting, custom packaging, as well as packaging and
sorting of fresh fruits and vegetables. The premises of ALTRA is
8.000 m² with ample space for storing and processing. ALTRA
has the capacity to store approximately 6.000 t of fruits and
vegetables of which 4.000 t can be stored at –18 ºC (freezing)
or 0 ºC (chill storing) and another 2.000 t can be stored at 0 ºC.
In addition to this, there is space available with no-temperature
controlling system for storing up to 2.500 t. ALTRA abides by the
new standards of the international market and technology and
has one primary goal to satisfy the needs of the client. The com-

ANTARES DOOEL, founded in 1994, is active in manufacturing and
conservation of fruits and vegetables, and collecting forest fruits,
mushrooms and medicinal and aromatic plants of organic and
conventional quality. The production is carried out on 15.000 m2 of
land and industrial units owned by ANTARES. The company has
adopted the latest principles and standards of modern technology
in order to improve the value of the food products and increase
quantity. The capacity for collecting forest fruits for this season is
about 1000 tons IQF frozen and 1000 tons fresh. One of the main
products is organic certified and conventional wild mushrooms
with a capacity of about 250 tons per season. The company is
continuously expanding its organic production capacity. From the
range of forest fruits they offer frozen berries (kept at –40 °C), and
produce marmalades and juices. ANTARES takes part in activities
in Macedonia that protect the natural bio-diversity of the country.

VIVI PROM deals with the production and trade of agricultural
products, characteristics of the southern areas of the Republic
of Macedonia. The warm southern climate and the use of glass
houses enable the continuous production and trade during the
whole year.
VIVI PROM began its production fifteen years ago, in 1991. At the
beginning, it worked with a small number of farmers, and in 1998
their number increased to 280. Today the number of farmers
involved has risen to 450. Regarding exports, VIVI PROM sells
over 5.000t of agricultural products every year, of which almost
95% reach the foreign markets. Such success in attracting farm-
ers and clients is based on trust in the company, as evidenced
by cooperation and realization of contracts.
VIVI PROM started this business with its own resources. So far, it
has 7 full time employees.

tion of seeds of the French company «Clause». In summer 2003
Vladam cannery started its production. It sources its raw material

import of the latest technology for packaging and corking glasses
