They may join the costume parade contest, play at the kid-friendly inflatables, explore their creativity

through face and crafts painting activities, and enjoy magic, acrobatic and bubble shows. They can

also go trick-or-treating throughout the school grounds for candies, sweets, and other frightfully delightful

treats from the event sponsors.

Slot will be on a first come first served basis. Deadline of payments is on October 26, Friday at

representing a variety of countries and

ethnicities from all over the world, will dress

in traditional garments and costumes, and

march in a colorful parade in Luxembourg

Hall.

Experience the brotherhood of nations,

and celebrate the ideal of world peace with

us in a pageantry of colorful costumes,

songs, and dances.

Celebrate giddy, not-too-spooky, fun at the

Halloween Spooktacular at the Learning Village

in STAR Campus. From October 27, 28, 30 to

31, the immersive play-and-learn facility is

transformed into a family-friendly Halloween

haven!

Children who will come in costume can enjoy

Parenting Corner

School holidays can be a difficult time for parents,

especially working parents. But get it right and

the holidays can be a lovely time for everyone.

Here are some tips for enjoying the school

holidays:

1. Plan ahead. Mark out when you are

planning to be away on holiday together, and

make sure that you give yourself enough time

to do some packing beforehand and washing

afterwards. Space out your spending,

especially if your budget is limited, so that

expensive things do not all happen in the first

week of the holidays leaving the rest as a bit

of a let-down.

2. Stock up on craft activities or equipment.

Make sure that you have plenty of indoor

activities in hand, planned and ready to go,

especially for wet days, or if you have to go

to work. Look out for shops having sales of

craft activities or kits, and use the Internet

as a source of ideas for craft activities that

can be put together easily. (https://www.skillsyouneed.com/

IB class standing

notices releasedThe International Baccalaureate (IB) Department

provides parents and guardians with a Class

Standing Notice (CSN) to give an update of their

child/ward’s academic standing. The CSN will

help them monitor and set action plan(s) about

their child/ward’s academic performance.

The 1st Term Class Standing Notice is distributed

this Friday, October 26, 2018. After receiving the

copy, kindly fill-out the reply slip and let your

child/ward submit it to his/her class adviser the

following meeting. Parents or guardians are

welcome to set an appointment to their child/

ward’s subject teacher to discuss the academic

standing in detail.

Students from Grades 1-12 who will get a grade

of LA (Low Average), P (Poor), or Inc (Incomplete)

during the First Term, graduating students with

P.A.S.S. deficiencies, and late enrollees with

audit tutorials will have to attend the remedial

class on November 5 - 9, 2018 so they will get a

better understanding of the subject and will be

given time to complete their requirements.

Parents and guardians of students who will go

to EMY class will be notified by the Deputy

Principal to inform them of the class schedule.

A removal exam will be given to students who

got a grade of LA and below after the EMY to

ensure that the students gain the skills necessary

to succeed in their level.
