She was 92. She was superintendent of Lavelle School for the Blind, 1989-1997. She served as principal at St. Lucy School, the Bronx, 1975-1985 and St. Charles School, Staten Island, 1968-1975. She also served at Resurrection School, Rye, 1985-1986. In 1986 she coordinated special services to non-public schools on Staten Island. She was a librarian at St. Raymond High School, the Bronx, 1998-2006. Also in the Bronx, she taught at St. Pius V Elementary School, 1963-1968; Our Lady of the As- sumption, 1955-1963; and St. Benedict, 1949-1955. She retired to Marian Woods in Hartsdale in 2006 and returned to the motherhouse in Blauvelt in 2015. Sister Louis Marie Baxter, O.P., who served as superintendent of Lavelle School for the Blind in the Bronx, died Feb. 27 at the motherhouse in Blau-velt. She was 92.
She was superintendent of Lavelle School for the Blind, 1989-1997.
She served as principal at St. Lucy School, the Bronx, 1975-1985 and St. Charles School, Staten Island, 1968-1975. She also served at Resurrection School, Rye, 1985-1986. In 1986 she coordinated special services to non-public schools on Staten Island. She was a librarian at St. Raymond High School, the Bronx, 1998-2006.
