40 years Celebrating 2021 JUBILEE FIRST PROFESSION Marie Scott Sister CLICK HERE TO SHARE Your Story of Sister Marie STORIES FROM MINISTRY I taught for 30 years at Marian College/ University and loved teaching our students. I served as Campus Minister for the same 30 years. Serving as Campus Minister was a unique opportunity and affirmed my call to be a Sister of St. Agnes. I had the good fortune of serving as a Pastoral Minister to students, faculty, and staff. Not too many people serve all three groups at the same time. It was a rich and rewarding ministry and I was truly blessed to meet and serve so many beautiful and at the same challenging people. It was not always easy, and the ministry had its ups and downs working with such diverse cultures and personalities. My proudest moments always were seeing our students graduate and walk across the stage and receive their degree. And even better knowing they would go on to help make the world an even better place then they found it!! WORDS OF ADVICE THROUGH CSA’S MISSION The word Charism stirs many different conversations within CSA as to how we define it. Our definition is more an internal cultural approach than society. Charism to the sisters is best defined as a gift from the Spirit of God. A unique quality. It can be used to describe a “charismatic” leader. Pope Francis is a charismatic leader. He has a charming smile that lights up an entire room. Jesus was charismatic, his disciples were willing to leave all and follow him to the ends of the earth. That is what my call to be a Sister of St. Agnes is about, I heard the call of the Spirit and I responded by saying “yes Lord, I will follow.” EDUCATION Marian College; Fond du Lac, WI BS in European History & Theology Fordham University; New York, NY MA in History St. Francis Seminary; St. Francis, WI MA in Pastoral Studies MINISTRY SITES 1971 BIRTHPLACE/HOMETOWN Crown Point, IN 1981 - 1984 Sacred Heart Parish; Fond du Lac, WI Parish Ministry St. Mary’s Eden 1984 - 1985 St. Mary Springs High School; Fond du Lac, WI Teacher 1985 - 1989 Sacred Heart High School; Yonkers, NY Teacher Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes; Fond du Lac, WI Formation Ministry/Vocation Ministry, Novice Director 1989 - 2000 Marian College; Fond du Lac, WI Campus Minister, Assistant Professor of History 1988 - 2018 Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes; Fond du Lac, WI Regional Coordinator - US 2019 -

S TO R I E S F R O M M I N I S T R Y Remember you are doing the mission of our Founders.  Think of Mother Agnes, she was

a real trooper and frontier woman.  She had a deep love of God and a determination to

educate the Wisconsin children to their faith life.

Just like Mother Agnes, NEVER GIVE UP and put your entire heart into whatever you are doing.

Build community and the relationships will follow.

W O R D S O F A D V I C E T H R O U G H C S A’ S M I S S I O N I was invited to become the sponsor for an all-male fraternity Phi Sigma Phi it was truly an honor. Often it is a male faculty member who sponsors the fraternity.  In my case they had to write and get permission to have a Catholic Sister as the sponsor. This same group of men with the permission of the university president named a special award in my honor titled the “Sr. Marie Scott Student Leadership Award” for contributing to the work of the student senate.  This was and remains a blessing in my life that I never expected and surely did not deserve.
