Sister Mary Scholastica Rivata

Was born in Guarene (Piedmont, Italy),On July 12, 1897.

Her family, work and parish were all areaswhich provided a fertile environment in preparation

for her total consecration to the Lord whichshe ardently desired.

Her meeting with the BlessedFr. James Alberione,who had already foundedthe Society of St. Paul,the Daughters of St.Pauland the Pauline Cooperators,was a turning point for hervocation and mission.

It was he who acceptedOrsola Rivata in Alba (Piedmont, Italy) on July 29,1922

The Blessed Fr. James Alberionefounded the Pious Disciplesof the Divine Master, so thatthe new religious Family….

« would completely belong toJesus the Divine Master, andmight become a source of grace from which other religious familiesespecially those more dedicatedto apostolic life could draw ».

Orsola Rivata was one of the first eight young womenchosen for the new foundation.

O Divine Trinity,Father, Son and Holy Spirit,we adore you and thank youbecause, in your infinite wisdom,you chose our time in which to callSister MARY SCHOLASTICA RIVATA.A devoted and faithful discipleof Jesus Master Way, Truth and Life,she was the first of many women to fulfilthe particular vocation and mission to beat the service of the Eucharist,the Priesthood and the Liturgy. If it accords with your divine will, we ask you to glorify her so that we may have a patroness in Heaven who will incite us to be « members who, in Christ, are active and working in the Church ».
