OCIO Self-Service for Site Licensing

MacOS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion)
• MacOS 10.8 arrived July 25th – Ordered through eStores– Discounts deeper than last version ($20/copy,
20+ copies = ½ off)• Previous pricing was $30/copy, 20+ half off)
• When you order through eStores, there are two different locations for ordering the software: one for bulk, one for single copies

• Select “Send Proposal” (small button at the bottom of the page) to continue– Choosing “update” will just update your cart

Upcoming Renewals• Nvivo
– Codes received, available via IT Service Desk• Minitab
– Renewed, pending codes– Codes updated on a server, no action needed on users’ part
• Autodesk/3Dsm– Renewal of $91 is due each August for continued use. Pricing remains
the same• MATLAB
– Pending final CIP Codes from HR; expected cost increase for sharing departments due to increased number of students/staff/faculty
• SAS– Renewal quote received– Expect a small price increase ($2-3/copy on workstations; servers
remain the same)– Student use available with self-service roll-out
Attachmate and Novell
• Attachmate – Is it in use in your area?– Terminal emulation software
• Brand Names: Reflection, Luminet, FileXpress, INFOConnect
• Do not alter installations if you have any; simply report them to OCIO Site Licensed Software
• Attachmate owns Novell– $1.25 million spend with Novell university-wide
– Please review any licenses you may have and begin any necessary true-up processes
OARnet VMWare Ordering
• OARnet VMWare ordering thoughts– OCIO Site Licensing met with OARnet regarding
the ordering process.• Updates are coming to the process to make it easier• Renewal issues appear to be caused by a bug on the
VMWare side; OARnet is seeking resolution• A catalog option will be added, hosted on the VMWare
site• Ordering process uses Service Now, and they have lost
some tool team members
