Specifically aimed at helping the business become more effective and efficient, OES is based on progressing 10 best practice tracks. It provides a clear framework for the business to develop existing programs and new support elements. The Huntingwood site has been outstanding with its progress over the past few years, achieving the 2015 prestigious “Plant of the Year” award at the Asahi Beverages supply chain conference last year. Huntingwood seeks excellence by applying specific focus on “Value Add” projects, using the Operational Excellence System and a Problem Solving Framework. ASAHI BEVERAGES Asahi Beverages is the ANZ subsidiary of the Japanese beverage company, Asahi Group Holdings. It incorporates Schweppes Australia, Asahi Premium Beverages, Independent Liquor New Zealand, The Better Drinks Co and Mountain H2o. Huntingwood produces such brands as Schweppes, Pepsi and Mountain Dew brands. The facility in Huntingwood was opened in 1991 and is located on 6.9 hectares of land in Western Sydney, NSW. With extensive capital expenditure investment since Asahi’s acquisition 5 years ago, the site has seen numerous and complex changes both from a people and process perspective. In 2010 a new can line filler was installed. In 2012, a new glass line filler was installed. In 2014 a new glass line de-palletiser was installed.
