L’investissement dans l’irrigation ne suffira pas à éviter une crise alimentaire et une crise de l’eau.
Il faudra aussi un investissement significatif pour: Accroître fortement la productivité de l’agriculture pluviale Accroître (doubler) l’efficience de l’irrigation Développer le commerce intra-africain
La solution à la crise de l’eau agricole se situe en grande partie en dehors du secteur de l’eau : Aspects financiers et institutionnels Ecoulement des produits Contraintes techniques Forts coûts d’investissements
