forINSPECTION AND CERTIFICATION OF BOILERS - 2020

As per the Boilers Act, 1923 and the Indian Boiler Regulations. 1950 framed therein, a provision has been made forinspection and certification of boilers and boiler components during manufacture, erection & use in India by "InspectingAuthorities' recognized by the Central Bollers Board and for this purpose the 'Inspecting Authority" in India is required toengage Competent Persons recognized by the Central Boilers Board (CBB). However, Competent Persons can undertakeinspection and certification of boilers during use indepe~dently also without taking employment with .the,Inspecting Aut~oritY.1Government of India has authorized National Productivity Council (NPC) to conduct the Sixth exarnmanon for recognltton ofCompetent Persons,

!ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR APPEARING FOR COMPETENT PERSONS EXAMINATION:

(a) Must be a graduate in Mechanical or Production or Power Plant or Metallurgical Engineering from a recognized

mst~lutjon and ".' ,., '.. .(b) Minimum five years post qualification experience smgly or cumulatively In the foHowmg fields related to boilers,

(i) Design,(il) Manufacture,(iii) Commissioning;(iv) Operation and Maintenance;(v) Inspection and Certification during manufacture Of operation and maintenance;(vi) High Pressure Welding-Inspection

and(c) Must be Level-It NOT Certified from ISNT or any other professional body recognized by ISNT in Non Destructive

methods of testing in radiography and ultrasonic testing. .

Note: (1) Age: Maximum age for the applicants IS 64 years as on 17'" December 2019 provided the person IS medically fit.

I (2) Applicants employed in Central. Govt. ISla.. te..Gov!. IPSUs have to inform thelf employer Inwnhng before applymg,(3) Training period will not be considered as experience. .

(4) Candidate.s fulfilling the eligibility criteria need only apply.

Examination Fee:Rs.4000/-(Rupees four thousand only) plus GST @18% for General Category candidates and Rs 2000/- (Rupees two Ithousand only) plus GST @18% for SC/ST candidates. However, GST rate will be applicable based on notmcanon by GOI atI the time of payment. Fee once paid will not be refundable under any circumstances. II Examination Date: 2nd February 2020 (Sunday)
