Sky Arts Sting Competition Georgia Duke 3014046 Ezana Furbach 2925112 Sky Arts Sting 2013 Proposal Working Title: Illumination Having researched both Sky Arts 1 and 2, we have decided to go ahead and create a sting for Sky Arts 2. Bearing in mind our target audience is 55+ we have thought up an idea that caters and captures the attention of this audience specifically. We aim to create a sting in which the different elements of Sky Arts 2 come together and, the viewer is able to see how they interrelate. For each feature such as classical music, opera, dance and the fine arts programme we will pick one object, which mirrors each of the channels components. This will be distinctive to its target audience, as these objects represent activities the viewer likes to participate in or be a part of it by watching the channel. Our aim is too illustrate how the different elements interact with each other and only together bring the Sky Arts 2 channel to life. In order to illustrate this we decided to interrelate these objects, by connecting them and making one object activate the other. It all concludes in these different objects, which each symbolize one aspect of sky arts 2 (like fine arts, opera, dance and classical music) working with each other and together bringing the Sky Arts 2 Logo to life, by illuminating it. We have thought about how these different elements connect with each other. Each compartment of art complements the other and people forget how important that is. Any type of dance would not be as mesmerizing and would not be able to express itself strong enough, without the music accompanying it. The same goes for an opera in which the actors singing are telling a story. Without music the atmosphere would totally change and it would be hard to grasp a feeling of what is going on. The different elements of art, shown on the channel, are all linked together and live off each others presence. Our idea for the sting will be a good way in reminding the viewer what channel they are watching as it brings together all the different elements in a distinctive way. As we know these are the reasons they watch the channel. We can be assured that they will be able to relate to the sting.
