Volunteer Opportunities at the Skyline Food and Resource Center “Impacting lives, empowering those in need, and addressing the roots of poverty in Oklahoma”
500 SE 15th Street Oklahoma City, OK 73129 (405) 632-‐2644 ext. 104
Looking for a chance to engage in the community by changing lives for the better? We need you!
Our Food Center deviates from traditional food pantries in that it is more of a grocery store environment -‐ complete with fresh produce -‐ which encourages dignity and health for clients, plus a more personalized experience.
For certain positions, we might ask for volunteers to work before or after shopping hours. Come by yourself or bring a group!
Positions available include: Shopping Assistants, Stockers, Warehouse Help
For long-‐term volunteers: Reception and Intake
The Clothing Closet at Skyline provides those in need with gently used clothes, as well as important household items, such as cookware and cleaning supplies. Most items are under a dollar & clothing is free to anyone who can get a referral from a school counselor or other agency.
A Clothing Closet Volunteer receives donations, sorts/displays items, assists patrons with referral application process and/or purchases.
The Skyline Eye Clinic has been serving residents of the local metro area for over 25 years. Over 1,000 adults and children continue to benefit from the program by receiving free eye exams, free frames and a minimal charge
for lenses. Recently we received brand new equipment to serve clients efficiently as possible.
Times will vary depending on position -‐ most shifts last around three hours. Training will be provided! For more info, contact Program Manager Gail Holcomb at ext. 211 or email [email protected]
Positions: Exam Scheduler, Exam/Clinic Receptionists, Order Clerks, Screening Techs, Receptionist Assistant
Also Seeking: Professional Optometrists/Ophthalmologists willing to join our team by devoting a few hours monthly to see patients (at our facility or their own)
Interested in working with seniors? Our Prime Time Program provides seniors with meals and a welcoming place to meet up, with activities like bingo and dominoes. Breakfast and lunch go on from 9 -‐ 12:30 Monday to Friday.
We also conduct many Seasonal Programs, such as the Prom Event during which high school girls are provided with dresses, shoes and accessories they would not otherwise be able to afford, or the Clothes 4 Kids program
which provides children with school uniforms. For more info contact Veronica Nuñez at ext. 103 or [email protected].
Our Values: Dignity First! End Stereotypes! And Follow the Golden Rule!
