Pick the closest Skyway ConneXion timepoint to your destination. Review the Skyway ConneXion schedule to learn what time you should board the bus. Arriving at the bus stop 10 minutes early is a good idea. Note: Times may vary due to road and traffic conditions. Buses will only stop at designated bus stops. As a bus approaches the stop, stand next to the bus stop sign. Ensure the driver sees you by waving to the driver, signaling your intention to board the bus. If you are unsure about this bus’ destination, ask the driver before you board. Have exact fare ready (U.S. coins and currency only) If you are visually impaired, or need help identifying your stop, please inform the driver as you enter the bus, so that the driver announces your stop location to ensure you exit at the proper time. It is helpful to sit toward the front of the bus if you need assistance. All MCAT buses and Trolleys are equipped with wheelchair lifts or ramps to accommodate persons who cannot board using the steps. When the bus arrives at the bus stop, follow the driver’s instructions. Once inside, the driver will assist you with securing your wheelchair and safety belts. Discuss your destination with the bus driver who will assist you when leaving the bus or trolley. Manatee County Area Transit vehicles and facilities are monitored by MCAT, 24 hours 7 days a week using electronic surveillance system and/or security personnel. What is the Skyway ConneXion? The Skyway ConneXion is a one seat limited stop/ express ride connecting Manatee and Pinellas Counties. This route serves each MCAT Transit Station and in close proximity to several Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) transfer points, including Bay Pines VA Hospital in St. Petersburg. Where are the ConneXion destinations? The destinations in Bradenton are: DeSoto Station, Downtown Bradenton Station and Palmetto Station. Destinations in Pinellas County are: US 19/34th St & 50th Ave S, 1st Ave S/ 34th St S adjacent to Grand Central Station, 68th St/Tyrone Blvd near the Tyrone Mall/PSTA Transit Center and Bay Pines VA Hospital. How much does it cost? The fare to go over the Skyway Bridge is $5.00 for one-way or $10.00 round trip. Is there a Multi-Ride Pass available? A $10.00 one-day unlimited ride pass is available for purchase and can be utilized for all MCAT local routes as well as the Skyway ConneXion route. Will I be able to travel on the MCAT bus within Pinellas and Manatee County? Yes, the current PSTA express cash fare is $3.00/trip; so intra-county express trips on MCAT buses in Pinellas and Manatee County cost 3.00 fare for each one-way trip.
