Colleen Coates, CPHR Colleen is the Senior Leader of Talent Acquisition and Total Rewards at Princess Auto, a national retailer with its Home Office in Winnipeg and 44 stores, 3 distribution centres and more than 2,400 Team Members coast to coast. She has more than 20 years of comprehensive human resources experience including senior leadership positions with The North West Company, The Dufresne Group, and Convergys Customer Management Canada. She also worked as the National Practice Leader for Total Rewards at People First HR Services where she consulted for organizations in the private, public and non-profit sectors. In addition to being a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), Colleen is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and Accredited Executive Compensation Professional (AECP) and

is a graduate of the University of Manitoba with a Certificate in Human Resource Management as well as a Certificate in Business Administration through Red River College. Colleen has been a member of CPHR Manitoba’s Board for the past two terms as well as being the Chair and Member of several Board and Staff Committees. She is active in her community having volunteered for three youth community Boards and was a published columnist with the Winnipeg Free Press. In 2017, Colleen joined the team of instructors at the University of Winnipeg teaching Compensation & Benefits in the Professional Applied Continuing Education Program. Janice Harper, CPHR

Janice is currently serving as Executive Vice President Human Resources for NFI Group. She is responsible for leading the people services function at NFI Group in a multi-location and diverse multi-national manufacturing, parts distribution, and service environment. Janice has worked in progressive human resource and management roles in the public and private sector with a proven track record in employee/labour relations, workplace culture enhancement, employee and organizational development, and safety/environmental systems management.

Janice holds a BA in Communication and Certificate in Human Resources Management from the University of Winnipeg and Diploma in Creative Communications from Red River College. She holds the Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR)

designation, SHRM Senior Certified Professional certification (SHRM-SCP) and Human Resources Compensation Committee designation from the Director’s College at McMaster University (HRCCC). She currently serves as Board Chair for the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources of Manitoba.

Brad started Acuity HR in 2012 after leading HR in a manufacturing environment and then building the HR function in an organization that was repeatedly recognized as a Best Managed Company and Best Employer in Canada. Brad has over 20 years of HR leadership experience and has led HR in multiple industries and various sizes of organizations.

Lisa Rowe, CPHR

Lisa Rowe is the Vice President of Human Resources at Loewen Windows and Doors with overall responsibility for the development and alignment of the Human Resources and Health & Safety strategies. Lisa completed her Human Resources Certificate Program through the University of Manitoba, and the Advanced Program in Management, Leadership & Strategy through the University of Manitoba - Asper School of Business and has held the CPHR designation since 2006. Her passion for integrating human resource strategy to align with the overall business strategy of an organization has been instrumental to her ongoing success in the

field for the past 20 years. Lisa’s background and experience spans several years over a range of industries including distribution, manufacturing, transportation and food services. Lisa currently serves on the board of directors with Alpha House Project Inc. and the Canadian Polish Athletic Club, as well as previously with Knowles Centre. She also enjoys mentoring others in the HR field and participates in the CPHR Mentorship Program. Nish Verma, CPHR

Nish Verma is Chief Operations Officer and VP-HR of Winnipeg based international clothing and fashion company, Mondetta. He is a Strategic Human Resources and Organizational Development Leader with experience in Human Resources, Strategic Planning, Business Reorganization, Project Management, Continuous Improvement, Change Management and Work Force Development. Nish has progressive government and private sector experience in all HR functional areas. He has served on the CPHR Manitoba Board for six years. Nish has been part of various CPHR Manitoba committees as a member and chaired, Governance, Membership and Nominating Committees in the last five years. He also represents CPHR Manitoba on the CPHR Canada Board of Directors.
