Activities/Questions for Calendar Routine:
Use either the blank calendar or the second one with the calendar pieces on it.
- At the beginning of the month fill in the month and year at the top.- At the start of each month have students fill in their birthday and use clip art to show special holidays and events.
Daily Questions/Activities:- What month is it? How many months are in a year? (Sing month song)- Have a student write in the date (you may wish to make it a pattern by using different colors and then have kids predict what comes next year day).- Is the date odd or even?- Put your finger on the date and slide it up. What day is it?- Have students state the date in a sentence "Today is ______ (day), ________ (month) ______ (date), ________ (year)."

- Pull down the correct day of the week for each sentence.- Count the number of letters in two different days (which has more, which has less, how many more, how many less?)- How many days are in a week? Sing a days of the week song.

Activities/Questions for Number of Days of School Routine:
- Have students place one stick in the ones place each day to show the number of days we have been in school (trade after ten). Have them writethe number at the bottom.
- Add a penny to the bank each day. Have students count the money each day and when you feel they are ready to work on trading you may wish to do that.
- Have students write the amount of money in ___ format.
- Write the number of the day on the shape (change the shape daily). Then have students answer: What is the shape? What is the number? Is it odd or even?

Activities for Number of the Day Routine:
- Pick a number (smaller in the beginning and then get harder).- Write the number in the circle.- Have students draw tally marks to represent the number.- Draw coins to represent the number.- Draw a picture to illustrate the number.- Make addition and subtraction sentences that equal the number.

Activities for Beat the Clock Routine:
- Set the timer at the bottom for 1 minute.- Have students sit in a circle and count by 1s, 2s, 5s, 10s (each students says one number).- Write how high they count in one minute in the shape and try to beat it each day.
