He is called one of the greatest inventors in
the world. His inventions have improved the
lives of millions of people. Edison was not
afraid to try. Even when he failed with
something new, he did not give up.
In 1877 he made the first record player.
This talking machine surprised the world. His
major invention was the electric light. He
invented this in 1879.
