Slow Writing: What’s the point?

You have had to THINK carefully about how you write.

Now you need to think carefully about how to improve it!

In pairs, work through your writing – and pull it to pieces!

Do the following:• Interrogate every single word and consider whether

there might be a better word.

Look at every sentence and ask: • Could it begin differently?

• Should it be longer or shorter? • Are you absolutely sure it makes sense?
