Ours is a finite Earth. At the rate at which we are consuming natural resources and conducting daily affairs with the least concern for the planet, one day in the near future it will reach its limit. The contribution of every

individual to the gradual destruction of the environment directly imposes twice as much responsibility in preserving what is left of it. Given the increasing frequency of natural disasters that are attributed to our deteriorating ecosystems, more and more people are becoming more aware, clamoring for sustainable ways of living. It is imperative that everyone should take part in the struggle for the restoration of what is left to be saved. We in the Kataas-taasang Sanggunian ng mga Mag-aaral/Supreme Student Council (KASAMA/SSC) believe that we students can make a difference by doing our share of taking care of our immediate environment. We know for a fact that with the way we consume food and other necessities of academic life, schools are a major source of plastic pollution. There is perhaps no need to explain the toxic effects that plastics bring about in the ecosystem. It is from this principle that the KASAMA/SSC is taking the initiative to gradually transform Saint Louis University into a plastic-free campus. Recognizing the essence of collective effort in this endeavor, the KASAMA/SSC, Union of Faculty and Employees of Saint
