Acid House

With Acid House we wanted to pay homage to – and bring up to date – one of the most important and enduring sub-genres of electronic music. From the minimal jack of Chicago pioneers Cajmere and Phuture to the rave-infused UK spin of 808 state and A Guy Called Gerald, acid house – and the ubiquitous Roland TB-303 – changed the course ofelectronic music forever.

Here we explore that seminal sound. Using classic hardware alongside contemporary digital tools, we’ve tried to create a collection which stays faithful to the spirit of acid whilst giving it a modern weight and

punch to do the business on today’s dancefloors.

Where else to start than the iconic sound of the TB-303? Squelchy, twisted and downright deviant in sound, you’ll hear the 303’s modulating frequency and resonance freakery through the collection.

From the classic acid loops to the retro synths and leads, each folder is packed with tweaks, freaks, burbles and gurgles that have been recorded and precision-cut into infectious slices of acid audio goodness to drop into any mix. As always, all melodic loops are key-labeled throughout.

The collection is backed with stacks of drum machine workouts – a mix of re-sampled 808 and 909 hits alongside an original 707 – which give an authentic jack-track beat backing to the acid madness.

All beats are served with stripped stems (full, kick/snare, perc-only, hat-only) and tempo-synced at 120bpm so you can mix-and-match layers with consummate ease.

A subtle mix of classic and contemporary, we hope you enjoy our take on the acid sound.
