Small Caring Moments Big Leap in Patient Care
Intent to Contribute Statement:
We would show how small actions have a large impact on patient care. Example: use of warm blankets at night
decreases the use of pain medication needs, confused patients helping facilitate sleep hours with use of lowering
the lights, quiet voices at night and again warm blankets to help tuck them in. We would produce a poster with
the use of pictures and written describing how we have seen how these actions small as they are have a larger
outcome. We also would show how being supportive, involving staff, recognition of staff helps facilitate the
caring. We would use statements from staff of moments where they saw that these caring actions had great
impact in patient care.
