Indigram Labs Foundation was established in January 2015. It is registered as a technology business incubator under section 8 (Not for Profit Company) of company act 2013 and received support from NSTEDB, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. The major thrust areas of Indigrams' incubation efforts are Agriculture-Technology & food processing, clean Energy and Automation, Rural focused healthcare and wellness and Education. As a Technology Business Incubator, ILF networked with all TBIs in the country through various networks like ISBA through which it is networked with AABI (Asia Pacific), European UKBI and US NBIA. Currently, ILF has 32 incubatees and others in the pipeline.

SMART village is referred as Self-sufficient and Self Reliant village with empowerment of Manpower (rural youth) through locally available natural resources and Appropriate Rural Technologies. A Smart Village provides long-term social, economic, and environmental welfare activity for village community. This provision of different components will enable and empower enhanced participation in local governance processes, promote entrepreneurship and build more resilient communities. Additionally, it will also ensure proper sanitation facility, good education, better infrastructure, clean drinking water, health facilities, environment protection, resource use efficiency, waste management renewable energy etc. The concept of Smart Villages does not prophesize a one-size-fits-all solution. It is territorially sensitive, based on the needs and potentials of the respective territory and strategy-led, supported by new or existing territorial strategies.

Benifits of the programme

Ÿ Early stage startup based of India working on a solution that address the socio - economic needs of the village.

Ÿ Having atleast a minimum viable product ( MVP) with a fair degree of customer validation or proof of concept (POC).

The selected startups will explore, develop & execute Innovative solutions to address agricultural & rural development issues in rural India in collaborationwith farmers/Cooperatives/Govt./Pvt. Institutions etc.

The sole purpose of the entire exercise is to uplift the rural masses from their poverty and create sustainable sources of income for them.

Involve local community members like Farmers, cooperatives and software experts to work together with these startups to co-create appropriate solutions in order to develop user-friendly technologies.

Our initiative will encourage the local community to adopt scientific methods of agriculture and become successful agripreneuers to lead a self-reliant life.

If the model becomes successful in achieving its underlined objectives, then it can be replicated in other villages of India with local geographical & demographic customizations.

Introduction & use of smart agricultural practices at the grassroots will eventually help in strengthening the village economy as a whole.
