    1. Home Screen

    The Home screen is the landing page for the Apps, it displays the sections of the app.

    1.1. Side Bar menu

    There is a menu icon in the top right hand side of the screen, and this allows you to open the side bar menu, where you can view the version number and return to the home screen from any point in the app by clicking “home”.

    You can also log out or access the App Settings, and choose your Internet connection preferences.

    2. Sites

    The Site section allows you to add a site or navigate to an existing site, view the areas and scaffolds within. You can then select a scaffold to inspect, edit or dismantle.

    2.1. Adding a site

    To add a site, click the blue “Add Site” button at the bottom of the sites section.

    This will open the “add new site” screen, all the sections marked red or amber will need completing before the site can be created.

    Add the Site address, Name, choose a Depot, Company (customer), Contact name and Email. Once all fields have been completed, the cancel button will change to cancel or done. Click done to add the site.

    You will now be presented with the site overview for your new site, you can add an area using the blue “Add Area” button at the bottom of the screen, or click on the default area to add a scaffold. You can also add a site photo, this will appear as the thumbnail image for the site in the lists and on the Web Console.

    2.2. Adding an area

    Your site can be broken down by areas, there will always be a default area in every site. This can be renamed on the Web Console and you can add additional areas to your site on the console and in the app. The areas can be used to break sites down to make the scaffold list easier to navigate. For example on a new build site, each area may represent a plot or plots. Alternatively an industrial site may use the areas to group different plant structures and associated scaffolds. Click the “Add Area” button and you will open the add area screen. Give your new area a name and click done to add it to the site.

    You will now be able to assign scaffolds to the area when adding or editing a scaffold.

    2.3. Adding a scaffold

    Open the area you wish to add a scaffold too and click the blue “Add Scaffold” button at the bottom of the screen. This will open the “add new scaffold screen”.

    Choose a contract, enter the scaffold Name, Description and assign a QR code if required. Click “done” to create the scaffold. Now the scaffold is created you will see the Scaffold details screen.

    2.4. Editing a Scaffold

    Open the scaffold detail screen and select Edit.

    This will open the scaffold specifications to be edited, you can change the scaffolds name, area, adverse weather conditions, Inspection date and add a QR code. Click done to save your changes.

    To assign a QR code, click the “add QR code” field at the bottom of the edit scaffold menu, this will open the QR scanner. Now scan the QR code you wish to assign to this scaffold.

    2.5. Adding to the Diary

    The Diary allows you to record entries into the scaffold diary, these can be written notes, video, audio or photographs. The app also allows an audio/video transcription function to allow users to dictate notes.

    Diary entries can be viewed for individual scaffolds in the scaffold details screen on the Web Console, or collectively for the site in the diary section of the site on the Web Console (see section 3.3 of the Web Console user guide).

    To submit a Diary entry, click on the Diary icon.

    Now you can add a category, notes, media (audio/video with or without transcription) and set the % standing. Once complete click done. The diary entry will now be logged against the individual scaffold and the site on the Web Console.

    2.6. Dismantle a scaffold

    Click the red Dismantle icon, this will open the dismantle scaffold screen. Select the date/time, add notes and photos if required and click dismantle.

    Depending on the settings in the Web Console, you may not be able to dismantle a scaffold without first producing an off-hire certificate, if prompted off-hire the scaffold first (see section 6) and then dismantle it.

    3. Customers

    Here you can navigate to a Site/scaffold by Customer, selecting a customer from the list will open a list of all the sites the customer has an open contract for.

    4. Inspections Due

    Inspections due shows you the number of inspections due per day for the next 7 days. By clicking on a day it will display a list of scaffolds separated by site. If you can click on a scaffold you will be taken straight to the schedule 7 inspection form for that scaffold. When completing inspections the app will remember the order you walked the site in, and display in this order the following week to make it easier to walk the site completing inspections.

    4.1. Completing an Inspection

    Click on a scaffold to open the Inspection screen.

    On the inspection screen you add Defects, Photos and Comments to the inspection report. The status will default to No defects until you add your first defect. You can also use the quick links at the top of the screen to view the last inspection for this scaffold or jump to the scaffold details.

    4.2. Adding a defect

    Click the Defect button in the inspection screen to open the “add defect screen” ensure you fully complete all the boxes where the marker is highlighted orange, selecting defect type, attaching a photo of the defect and selecting a status.

    You can configure the list of defects visible in the app on your Web Console see section 9.1 of the Web Console User guide. Once you have completed your defect click done to submit the defect. You can return and edit the defect later if needed.

    You can now add another defect by clicking “Add” or return to the inspection screen by clicking “done”.

    4.3. Editing a Defect

    During the course of completing your inspection you can return to a defect and edit it at any time. Simply click on the defect button on the inspection screen. Then choose the defect you wish to edit and the defect screen will open allowing you to edit your comments, the photos and status of the defect. Click done when you have made your changes.

    4.4. Deleting a Defect

    You can remove a defect at any time whilst completing your inspection. Simply open the defect screen and tap on the circle tick box to select the defect you wish to delete. A pop up will appear at the bottom of the screen inviting you to delete the selected defect or cancel. You can select multiple defects to delete in one go.

    4.4.1. Submitting an Inspection

    Once you have completed your inspection, click done to proceed to the signature screen. Here you can review the Defects, Comments and Photos you have added. You can click on the comment fields and edit the text at this stage. Once you’re satisfied click the green “tap to sign” button to input your signature.

    Prior to signing the inspection the bottom green button will read “sign later” clicking this will save the incomplete inspection to the “in progress” section of the app. See section 7 of this guide for more detail.

    Once you have signed the inspection the button will read “submit” click this to submit the inspection to the Web Console, ready to be emailed to the Clients.

    5. Diary

    6. Adverse Weather

    Here you can complete an ad hoc inspection following adverse weather. Open the adverse weather section of the home screen and select the required weather type and click done.

    The app will now display all scaffolds affected by adverse weather. Click the scaffold you wish to inspect to open the inspection screen, then complete the inspection as per instructions in section 4.1.

    7. In Progress

    In progress is where you can find any inspections or actions that have been started but not finished. This includes inspections that are complete but awaiting signature, incomplete inspections and follow up actions. Follow up actions are separate to an inspection. If you report a defect that remains, you need to complete a follow up to log who the defect was reported to and why it remains. This is separate from the inspection.

    You can delete incomplete inspections from the “In Progress” section by selecting the desired inspections using the circles on the left hand side, this will reveal a pop up with the option to delete or cancel. You can select and delete multiple inspections at a time.

    8. QR Code Scanner

    The app has been built to recognise QR codes. A QR code is similar to a barcode, but for mobile devices.

    It allows you to incorporate unique QR codes on your scaffold tags. These can then be scanned into the software and assigned to the corresponding scaffold. Once the QR code has been linked to the scaffold in the scaffold details screen, you can use the home screen scanner to scan it and it will open the scaffold details screen for the scaffold, speeding up the app navigation process.

    To assign a QR code to a Scaffold, you need to open the scaffold details screen. See section 2.4 “editing a scaffold” for guidance on how to locate the scaffold details screen. To assign your QR code first select Edit.

    This will open the scaffold specifications to be edited.

    To assign a QR code, click the “Add QR code” field at the bottom of the edit scaffold menu, this will open the QR scanner. Now scan the QR code you wish to assign to this scaffold.

    Once recognised you will see this screen, click done.

    You can now assign an additional code if required by clicking “add” or exit the code setup by clicking “done” again.

    9. Sync

    The sync button allows you to manually trigger the sync. It will highlight with a yellow icon if you have un-synced inspections. Open the sync and click sync to complete.

    You must have a live internet connection to sync. If there is a reason preventing you from syncing the software will generate a variety of error messages to indicate this as below:
