MTI’s Smart Prepayment Solution facilitates pay-as-you-go metering and billing system to the consumer allowing them to manage their payment for utility services in advance. Our prepayment solution is an amalgamation of server software and prepayment meters, which confirms to various local and international standards. Our state-of-the-art solution allows the utilities to collect money from the end consumers in advance which in turn improves cash flow and eliminates chances of bad debt. On the basis of number of units sold, the utilities can easily manage and plan the generation accordingly. The Smart Prepayment Solution is carefully designed to facilitate and attain the desired objectives of the utilities and the end-consumer. Our solution is an amalgamation of server software and smart prepayment meters. In-built GPRS modem in the hardware enables a secure & reliable two-way communication between Smart Eye MDC and Energy Meter deployed at the designated location allowing remote automatic readings. The meters follow international standard communication protocol DLMS/COSEM that permits seamless integration with MDC. These Meters are powered with software features which render prepayment functionalities.
The meters installed at the designated location communicate and transmit the metering data over
GPRS cloud. MTI Smart Eye MDC located at the central database saves the metering data in the database which can be used for later retrieval and analysis using MTI Galaxy.
In our solution, a prepayment server integrates with MDC, the main task of which is to collect data from the deployed meter. Installed prepayment server translates available pool of information into services as prepaid account maintenance of consumers; facilitating smooth functioning of recharging mechanism, and managing load connection/ disconnection at consumer end, etc.
The end consumer are facilitated with all the relevant information regarding credit recharge, alarms and credit data on their mobile phone by the meter itself using the GSM/GPRS network.

MTI’s Smart Prepaid server receives the metering data from the MDC and requests Smart Eye MDC for remote connection/ disconnection based upon the credit details of the consumer. The end consumer can manage its utility consumption through a consumer portal which can be easily accessible on personal devices through an internet connection. The consumer can easily recharge its account through easy load, mobile and online recharge etc.

• Smart prepayment solution supports credit recharge both in units (kWh) and currency. Credit vouchers are available in the form of scratch cards. Credit is recharged by entering scratch card code via following modes:

• Credit can also be recharged through soft load available at designated vendors.

Consumer Load Disconnection• If the credit in the consumer account drops below a programmable threshold then the meter
disconnects the electricity supply.
• The meter and consumer’s personal device notifies the remaining credit. Both generate an alarm if the available credit goes below a certain (programmable) threshold level.
• The meter and consumer’s personal device shows the approximate time left before disconnection at current running load condition. If the remaining time is less than the set threshold level, meter and personal device generates an alarm.
• In case of disconnection due to zero credit, meter restores the electricity supply automatically as the credit recharges in the consumer’s account.
• Meter accepts both units kWh (as per National Electric Power Regulator Authority) and TOU based tariff slabs. Credit is deducted as per fed tariff slabs.
• Monthly fixed charges (programmable) are also accommodated in credit deduction.
• All tariff slabs are remotely upgradable.
Utility Tariff Options
List of all issued credit vouchers is fed in the prepaid server. Voucher details are validated through the prepaid server before making any credit transaction. Credit recharge log is maintained in the prepaid server database. The log include the following information:
