CONCLUSION: GANDIA, SMART WATER CITY
Gandia is a city in the Valencian Community on the East Coast of Spain, close to the Mediterranean, at 65 km south of the city of Valencia.
At its peak (during summer) it holds a population of over 200.000 inhabitants being a thriving centre for commerce and tourism in the region.

EARLY ASSET SENSORIZATION
The first layer of the Smart Water Networks architecture was implemented in some treatment plantsand key assets across the network, such as reservoirs.
Digital version plant Digital version well
The sensors implemented had the fundamental objective of recording operational data that could thenbe used for:1. Provide a comprehensive reporting view of the process in dashboards and reports
2. Improve the process

OTHER ASPECTS
CONCLUSION: GANDIA, SMART WATER CITY
Once the assets were sensed, a complete 3D representation of them was created.
This digital environment would show a representation of the most fundamental assets of thenetwork, such as wells and reservoirs, with their most relevant variables, together withinformation on the water supply to the inhabited areas.

SECTORIZATION OF NETWORK
OBJECTIVE:
Optimize the efficiency of water distribution, mainly by
detecting leaks
SOLUTION:
Installation of DATALOGGERS for the
measurement of the water flow in the network and the
flow balance
NEED TO OPTIMIZE ECONOMIC RESOURCES
SOLUTION: Divide the network into Sectors
• Reduction in the amount of hardware required• Optimization of the implementation phase of dataloggers• Optimization in the implementation of pressure gauges
• Proper deployment of sound recorders

SMART METERING
• Improving the efficiency of the distribution system.
• Detect assets in bad condition and guide the management in the investments to improve
them.
• Reduction of ecological impact. Less risk of possible flooding caused by large leaks.
• Demand forecasting, reduced risk of water shortages or supply outages
• Reduction of the risk of contamination of drinking water
• Alarm system capable of alerting about important alterations in consumption patterns.
• Alert systems to Social Services or Police in case of altered consumption in elderly and /
or dependents
• Internal leak detection system based on customer consumption data, adjusted invoices.
