Thank you for purchasing SmartAX MT882 ADSL Router (hereinafter referred to as the MT882). With the MT882, you can enjoy high-speed Internet services while making a phone call.

Do no let a child operate the device without guidance. Do not let a child play with the device or any accessory. Swallowing the accessories may lead to peril.
In any of the following cases, stop using the device, disconnect it from the power supply and unplug the power plug immediately: there is smoke emitted from the device, or there is some abnormal noise or smell. Contact the specified maintenance center for repair.
Keep at least 10 cm between the device and the closest object for heat dissipation. Keep the device far away from any heat source or bare fire, such as a candle or an electric heater.
Do not place any object on the top of the device. Otherwise, the device may be too hot during operation. It can even be deformed or damaged by the heavy load.
Before cleaning the device, stop using it and disconnect it from the power supply. Use a piece of soft cloth to clean the device.
Never attempt to dismantle the device by yourself. In case of any fault, contact the appointed maintenance center for repair.
Note: When the MT882 is used for a long time, temperature of the shell will rise slightly. This is normal and does not affect the performance of the device.

Note: If the MT882 fails to be activated, it tries again after an interval. In such an interval (about 1 minute), the ADSL LINK indicator is off.

4 Configuring the MT882 You can access the Internet by using the following two methods:

configuration page. 6. Select Tools > Save & Reboot from the navigation tree. 7. Select Save and click Submit to save your configuration. 8. Select Reboot and click Submit to restart the MT882.
Step 3 Configure your computer.
Configure your computer to obtain network settings, such as the IP address, the gateway, and DNS.

Note: If the embedded dial-up function of the MT882 is enabled, power off the MT882 when you do not want to access the Internet. Otherwise, the service provider may still calculate the fee for Internet services even if you have powered off your computer.
Using the PPP Dial-Up Software of the Computer to Get Online Step 1 Configure the MT882 to work in the pure bridge mode. Refer to steps for enabling the embedded dial-up function to configure the pure bridge mode. The only difference is to select the Pure Bridge mode not the PPPoE mode. Step 2 Configure the network card (also called network adapter) for your computer. If the PPP dial-up software is installed in your computer, and then you can get online. The Windows XP (Professional) operating system has an embedded PPPoE dial-up software. To set up a dial-up connection in the Windows XP system, do as follows:
1. Select Start > All Programs > Accessories > Communications > Network Connections.
2. Click Create a new connection in the displayed page. 3. Click Next in the New Connection Wizard dialog box. 4. Select Connect to the Internet and click Next. 5. Select Set up my connection manually and click Next. 6. Select Connect using a broadband connection that requires a user
name and password and click Next. 7. Enter the name of the dial-up connection (you can enter the name as you
like). Then click Next. 8. Select Anyone's use or My use only and click Next. 9. Enter the user name and password. Then click Next. 10. Click Finish.
