Overview of MNL support process6. Import .VSD file into the corresponding AS-L
● Importing Lon applications created outside of StruxureWare Building Operation (e.g. stand-alone WorkPlace Tech) using WorkPlace Tech Editor
● Two methods:
Single .VSD file import:
• Stops after file has been opened to allow the user the opportunity to make changes prior to saving the file, including:
• changing the hardware type• fixing issues that may have
caused a failure as part of a multiple import
• Allows the ability to change the application name, add a description and define a Category as they appear in the Control Panel
• Once saved, the hardware type is fixed
Multiple .VSD files import:
• Allows multiple applications to be selected at one time within the same directory
• only one directory can be used at a time
• Uses original application name when saving and does not add the description and category information
• Note: Duplicate names are prevented. Names containing unsupported characters will fail.
• All selected (LON) applications will be opened, processed, saved using original name if succeeded (error message logged in Log Viewer on failure), file closed and move to the next
• When import multiple process has completed, the Import Log Viewer will be displayed with the results
Schneider Electric – StruxureWare Building Operation v1.2: MNL controller support 30
Notes on .VSD import
● Import Log Viewer● Results from the import are stored in this file● View the file to verify all imports were successful
● Review file names, number of imports succeeded/failed, and reasons for failure● Log file is saved in the Windows directory and can be later referenced
● Import errors and how they are handled● Any applications that appeared in the Log Viewer as failed can be imported
individually providing the opportunity to correct the issues● All applications are compiled before saving, identifying any errors that would affect
StruxureWare Building Operation● Imported MNL-800 apps containing inappropriately numbered SNVT indexes are fixed
during the import● Applications prior to (stand-alone) WorkPlace Tech v3.2 SP1 will fail and will require
conversion to v3.2 or later and be changed to a supported hardware version
● Upon successfully importing an application to the Automation Server, it will appear in the StruxureWare Building Operation WorkStation Control Panel
