Considering exporting to a new market?
The EMRS provides independent advice, at no charge, on
carrying out marketing research; whether companies are
looking at new markets or re-evaluating an existing one. In
addition companies may be eligible for a grant of up to 50% of
the cost of conducting market research.
The scheme includes advice on:
• comprehensive desk, field or published research,
• trade conditions, legislation and regulations insight and
know-how
• research in overseas markets and the opportunity to gain
first-hand knowledge and experience

The Tradeshow Access Programme (TAP) provides financial
support to eligible SMEs who wish to use overseas exhibitions
to market their products or services, and acquire market
knowledge and experience, as part of a strategic approach to
exporting.
The programme is mainly delivered through UK groups
organised by Accredited Trade Organisations (ATOs).

The Overseas Market Introduction Service (OMIS) is a charged service,
offering focussed business advice and visit support to UK businesses.
OMIS offers a wide range of activities and a simple pricing structure,
providing a flexible and personalised journey for our customers. Activities
can include:
•market advice;
•analysis of market entry strategies;
•identification of possible business partners;
•arranging meetings with key contacts in the country or
•support during overseas visits or bespoke events such as product
launches.

How can we support a business with export ambitions?

Market Visit Support (MVS) is our service aimed at SMEs that
are new to exporting. it helps companies gain access to key
contacts and networks in overseas markets as part of their
trade development strategy. In order to be eligible, companies
must be working with an International Trade Adviser (ITA).
MVS is for either individual firms or group missions; companies
can receive MVS funding up to six times.

UKTI launched its MSB programme in 2012.
Mid-sized businesses (MSB) with a turnover of £25M-£250M
are eligible for support from a dedicated UKTI trade expert.
Mid-sized Businesses (MSBs) play a vital role in the economy,
accounting for 20 per cent of UK private sector turnover. This is
set to grow and, according to the Confederation of British
Industry, could be worth up to £50 billion to the UK economy by
2020.

Launched in 2011 The High Value Opportunities (HVO)
programme is UKTI's approach to the identification,
prioritisation and delivery of support in pursuit of high-value
overseas projects.
If businesses are looking to raise their profile in overseas
procurement projects with budgets of at least £500 million, the
High Value Opportunities (HVO) programme can identify
opportunities that become available.

UK Export Finance (UKEF) is the UK’s Export Credit Agency and supports
exporters by providing guarantees and insurance policies that complement
those on offer in the private sector.
UKEF work closely with exporters, banks, buyers and project sponsors
supporting exports to countries all across the world. A range of services are
available to companies:
• Where private sector insurance is unavailable, UK Export Finance can
insure exporters against non-payment by overseas buyers;
• UKEF can share credit risks with banks to help exporters raise tender and
contract bonds, working capital finance and securing confirmations of
letters of credit from overseas banks;
• UKEF can support loans to overseas buyers to purchase capital/semi-
capital goods and services from exporters.

international business sales leads identified by UKTI staff working in over
100 overseas offices. To do so the business can register onto ‘Business
Opportunities’ for tailored email updates identifying new international
