YOU ARE INVITED
TO THANKSGIVING DINNER NOVEMBER 28TH
Please join your Tippecanoe friends and family. Sign up is
required. Check the clubhouse for information. Updates will be provided at Coffee Hour.
As we celebrate Thanksgiving Day; I would like to share a story about being thankful for things we may take for granted in our lives. A blind man sat on the steps of a building near a busy intersection. On his left was a sign that said, “I’m blind, please help”. On his right he had placed an upturned hat, in which there were just a couple of coins. A woman walked past, and she reached into her bag for a few coins to add. But before she continued on, she picked up his sign and flipped it over, writing a new message before placing it back beside him. It wasn’t long before the hat began to fill up.
A few hours later, the woman passed by again, and the man recognized the sounds of her steps. He called out to her. “Were you the person who changed my sign this morning?” The woman stopped. “I was.” “What did you write?” the man asked. The woman told him, “I wrote what you had written, except in a different way. I wrote, “ Today is a beautiful day, but I cannot see it.” “Your sign told the truth, that you are blind. But the new sign helped people pay attention to the beauty of the day, and to be thankful for their sight.” Take a moment to slow down and be grateful for today!

EVENTS
OCTOBER 31ST pot luck was enjoyed by about 50 people . It was one for the season.
A fun filled event filled with no tricks being reported but lots of treats!
A Veterans’ day lunch was held to thank our Tippecanoe veterans. The lunch was a great success with 45 people in attendance.
All Veterans shared when they served; which branch they served in and some of their experiences. It was wonderful to see the pride they felt in serving their country. We were happy to provide them with a complimentary lunch.
Thank you to the volunteers who worked to make this event a success.
Buy your tickets for the Pancake Breakfast
being held on November 30th
Please come out and join the fun. Breakfast will include plain pancakes and blueberry pancakes. These are Harold’s specialty! He and his volunteers will be serving pancakes with maple syrup, sausage patties or links, orange juice and apple sauce and coffee & tea.
Sign up sheet is in the club house. He would appreciate if you could sign up and purchase your tickets in advance; so he can ensure there is enough food for everyone to enjoy.
Tickets are $4.00 per person. Tickets will be available at coffee hour Tuesday, November 26th. As well, some tickets will be for sale the morning of the breakfast at the door.

TIPPECANOE CHRISTMAS PROGRAM
MONDAY DECEMBER 16, 2019 at 7:00 pm
Planning is well underway for a great Christmas program for all Tippecanoe residents and guests. The Zephyrhills High School choral group will once again be performing for us. We will be taking a good will donation right after their performance which will then be sent on to the choral director. The students perform other places in completion and the money we send can be put to good use in their future endeavors.
Christmas carols will be sung by everyone all thru the night, lest we forget what Christmas is all about.
The contest for this year is decorating oneself to represent your creativity of what a Christmas tree should look like on you. Be it green or be it white, that’s totally up to you. There are so many ideas on “Christmas tree costumes.com” that you can get thoughts from. This is merely for fun, but there is a great prize to be given
Since there are many residents who normally do not attend the Christmas Program because of driving at night, parking or walking in the dark, we are providing transportation to and from the clubhouse via our sponsored Christmas Uber drivers. If you wish to have transportation to and from the Clubhouse that night, please call one of these numbers to let us know to pick you up.
Judy Granger—906-399-5839 Susie Smith-813-788-0971 Wanda Stevens– 813-79-1437
Reminder flyers of our great event will be posted at the clubhouse, on Facebook and will be announced weekly at coffee hour. We are looking to have a great turn out and for everyone to enjoy themselves and to socialize with punch and cookies after the program.
We are looking forward to seeing all of you on December 16th.
