Parents and Neighbors please be

understanding if the bus runs late

during snowy and icy days. I like

to be extra cautious with the kids

on the bus and with the icy

conditions. Dyke rd can be quite

a bear in the early morning hours.

On

bitterly

cold days

when I

know the

kids are

taking a

few

seconds

longer

than normal to get out the door

into the cold I will wait for them

which can slow us down a bit. Be

aware that if there is a substitute

they will not know the usual

patterns and students.

Everyone bundle those kids up

Winter Ice Safety

Thawing and refreezing can

weaken ice.

Pockets of air can form under the

flood control.

Ice seldom freezes uniformly.

The insulating effect of snow

slows down the freezing process.

Ice formed over flowing water and

currents is often dangerous.

Ice conditions can change within

a few feet because of currents or

proximity to shore.

Schools of fish moving warm

water up can open holes in the

ice.

4” of new clear ice is the minimum

thickness for travel on foot.

A minimum of five inches of ice

is recommended for safe

enjoyment of ice skating, ice

fishing, ice boating and

snowmobiling on state park

lakes. However, even if the ice is

several inches thick, ice-covered

water is never completely safe.

maintenance, and performance testing to insure continuous

effective treatment and controlled discharge quality. Special design

requirements are covered elsewhere in these regulations. Minimum

maintenance requirements are as follows:

A.) Owner shall maintain a standing maintenance contract with

a contractor approved by the CCHD. The contract shall include as a

minimum two full system inspections per year which verify digester

function as designed, instrumentation and alarm function, and

include provisions for solids pumped out and any other necessary

maintenance work.

B.) Owner shall submit copies of standing maintenance

contracts to LTPOA within 30 days of the date these regulations are

adopted by LTPOA and there after at the time the annula dues are

paid. This shall be in accordance with the state of Ohio EPA

requirements of annual filing to the Columbiana Board of Health.

C.) Owner shall submit written

reports covering maintenance

services performed, or require

that the contractor do so, to the

LTPOA secretary within 30 days

of any work being done or

Reports are to be in writing and

Lake Assists: 2

Dog Complaints: 1

We have a few cameras that are not working properly. Looking to see if they can come out next week to

repair.

Association Programs: Kendall Chadwick -

We had a great turn out for the Christmas party. Total cost of Party $270.81. Thanks to Matt and Nancy Parker

for all their hardwork! If we get some snow we plan on hosting a sledding party. Also Thinking about doing a

clam bake next year. This will not be at the lakes expense we should send out invites with a cost per person.

Conservation: Dick Taggart -

We heard back ODNR (Ohio Department of Natural Resources) on our EAP (emergency action plan) and

there are some things that we need to fix. We will be working on correcting it. We have to have the final

revision completed by the time the dam inspection takes place to ensure that we remain in good standing.

Kendall Chadwick: Beach -

The Slide is in, we may be over budget slightly as there were some things that needed repaired before

installation. There are a few sharp spots on the slide that will need to be taken care of before the children

can use the slide. We should look into posting the address of the beach near the entrance.

Maintenance: Erin Moeller -

Roger continues to do a great job removing limbs from the roads and keeping brush maintained. The

mowing company completed leaf removal from the front entrance.

Marina: Jim Ohle -

Everything is quiet. Roofing company to be contacted at the beginning of January to see when we are

scheduled. The checks were given to the lake from the marina.

Roads: Adam Pusateri -

We have had a few snow events. We had a tough time getting our first salt delivery. We were not a priority

for them. We have already put in an order for the next load. We switch the anti skip material for this year.

Things seem to be working pretty well.

New Construction/Septic: Matt Parker -

We are still working with the county on specific properties. We have one septic on Tomahawk Drive that has

been fixed. Still waiting on the other two. I think we may want to put a few tons of sand at Vincent Welsch

until the other two concerns have been corrected.

Lauren and George Tripson’s Secret Recipe Collection Lauren and George Tripson

The Holidays are over and visions of sugarplums are replaced by dreams of summer fun here at the Lake.

Since we have a few months before those dreams become reality, it’s a good time to sort through recipes and

bring some favorites to the front of the box, you know them, the ones that are tried and true … they are easy,

delicious, and allow us to spend more time outside fishing, swimming, floating or just enjoying the view from

the shore.

Two family recipe favorites that we want to share are Chicken Delight and Special Baked Beans. Chicken

Delight is a quick and easy dinner that reheats well (if there is ever any left over). Our Special Baked Beans

cook up nicely for a barbecue dinner and can easily be doubled if you’re going to a picnic or potluck. Although

there are many recipes out there for this loaded baked bean dish, rarely do we come home with any leftovers.

We hope you enjoy the recipes we’ve shared and see you soon around the Lake. George and Lauren Tripson

Chicken Delight

• 1 cup water

• 1 stick butter

• 1 box Stove Top Stuffing

• 4-5 cups cut up, cooked chicken (Rotisserie

chicken works great for this recipe)

• 1 cup sour cream

• 1 can cream of mushroom, chicken OR celery

soup

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2. Place water and butter in saucepan and bring to

boil. When butter is melted, add Stuffing Mix and

stir together. Cover pot and set aside.

3. In a separate bowl, mix the cut up, cooked

chicken with the sour cream and canned soup.

4. Pour chicken mixture into 9 x 9 pan coated with

cooking spray.

5. Recipe can easily be doubled and baked in a 13 x

9 pan.

Special Baked Beans

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2.On top of stove, brown together:

• ½ pound bacon

• ½ pound ground meat

• 1 medium onion, chopped.

3. Mix into meat & onion mixture

• 1/3 c. granulated sugar

• 1/3 c. brown sugar

• ¼ c. ketchup

• ¼ c. barbeque sauce

• 2 Tbl. Molasses

• 1 tsp. mustard

• 1 can kidney beans, drained & rinsed

• 1 can butter beans, drained & rinsed

• 1 can baked beans with sauce

4. Put in casserole and bake covered for 30 minutes.

Remove lid and stir. Continue baking uncovered

for 1 hour.
