RESEARCH BACKGROUNDThis research was conducted as a semester assignment in our Mobile

Reputations & Collaborative Consumption in Sharing Economy class, by

our mentor Betty Tsakarestou, in order to give us some insights about the

community of gamers, their mobile self, their social media and gaming

habits and how all these are related in their life. We chose the Gamers

group because we find Gaming interesting and it requires the use of

Internet and computer technology. So we wanted to see at first how it can

be combined with the use of Social Media and Mobile phones. Also, as

Gaming seems to be an activity someone does solo, we wanted to discover

its collaborative side.

OBJECTIVES

3. Their relationship with their mobile phone

4. How all of these are combined in their life

5. The Collaborative angle of the Gaming

Community

METHODOLOGY

We conducted a Qualitative Research.

Our research was based on 5 interviews with Gamers.

We chose this method because:

•We needed to learn more about their personalities in-depth.

•We wanted them to feel comfortable enough to discuss with us and tell us their

story.

We used a discussion guide with the same questions for every gamer.

We recorded the interviews and we also gathered visual material.

COLLABORATIVE ACTIVITIESAll of our Gamers believe that :

The Collaborative Activities in Gaming are not related to making

exchanging help, ideas, skills and strategies, and trust between

your team (in most games mentioned).

time.

•Through Social Media they share their opinions and stay

updated.
