WWROA Whitewater Wilderness Ranch Owners Association Snow Removal Policy It is the policy of the WWROA to remove heavy snow to provide reasonable access to all occupied ranch properties. However, this is mountainous property with high winds and frequently changing weather conditions. Four wheel drive vehicles with good tires and chains will often be required. Also, owners will not always be able to get to or out of their property. Sometimes residents and winter visitors will have to live with delays, inconvenience, and may incur personal expense to access their property. Normally, the roads will be plowed using the WWROA grader with a contracted operator. If other equipment is needed to clear the roads, an informal group of Road Committee members and Board members will decide what other equipment is needed and arrange to hire an outside contractor. All snow removal activities are dependent on the actual conditions that develop and are limited by the budget and funds available. Snow removal cannot occur while it is snowing or while the wind is blowing strongly as snowdrifts will simply fill back in behind the grader. Patience in winter is not only desirable, but also necessary. Stay safe out there – or better yet, stay safe at home if possible.
