FEATURES OF SOAP

Page 6: Soaps and shampoos

Some soaps are anti-bacterial so they can help to kill germs.

Some mild soaps can wash off the corrosive acids that drops on your skin or neutralize it.

Soaps are almost always used for washing, bathing and cleaning.

ADVANTAGES OF SOAP

Page 7: Soaps and shampoos

Some strong soaps can be harmful to the skin or the environment.

Other soaps can react with acids and it can be very dangerous.

Soft soaps are not durable for long time.

Disadvantages of soap

Page 8: Soaps and shampoos

The main reason for development of shampoo was that hair became rough and damaged when soap was used to wash hair.

For instance, the shampoo is in sachet that you can even carry in any size purse or bag, big or small.

Remove all excess dirt and oil from your scalp to promote growth of healthy hair.

Advantages of shampoo

Page 9: Soaps and shampoos

Dry shampoo can certainly come in handy, but there can be some problems, depending on which ones you buy and how you plan to use it.

Some shampoo which are used on daily basis, which are very strong can cause hair fall and dryness of the scalp.

Because of using anti-dandruff shampoo, some people get allergies and get prone to cold and sneezing.

Disadvantages of shampoo

Page 10: Soaps and shampoos

The Latin word sapo simply means "soap";  it was likely borrowed from an early Germanic language.

Until the Industrial Revolution, soap making was conducted on a small scale and the product was rough. Andrew Pears started making a high-quality, transparent soap in 1789

History of Soap

Page 11: Soaps and shampoos

William Hesketh Lever and his brother, James, bought a small soap works in Warrington in 1886 and founded what is still one of the largest soap businesses, formerly called Lever Brothers and now called Unilever. These soap businesses were among the first to employ large scale advertising campaigns.

The word shampoo in English is derived from Hindi chāmpo.

The Hindi word referred to head massage, usually with some form of hair oil.

In the 1860s, the meaning of the word shifted from the sense of massage to that of applying soap to the hair. Earlier, ordinary soap had been used for washing hair. However, the dull film soap left on the hair made it uncomfortable, irritating, and unhealthy looking.
