“We pursue a society in free market economy, where every business contributes to creation of social value together with financial value. We help youths grow to responsible business leaders of the future.”

Mission

“Our organization purposes supporting study and education of social enterprise at business schools, enhancing its understanding among corporations, industries and society, helping students and professionals start up social ventures, and leading youths to grow to responsible and well-equipped business leaders of the future.”

Purposes

(1) Social Enterprise Forum (SEF): Seminars, symposiums and conferences are held on Social Entrepreneurship and related topics every year.

(2) Social Venture Competition Asia (SVCA): Social Venture Competition Asia is held every year for business school students and professionals in HK, Taiwan, Japan and Korea.

(3) Impact@Work Program (IWP): IWP is offered to SEN student clubs to help them conduct internship projects during their academic term(s) for experiential learning on Social Entrepreneurship and related topics.

Social Venture Competition Korea was launched in 2006, which has grown now to Social Venture Competition Asia (HK, Taiwan, Japan & Korea). For this Competition, Social Venture is defined as “business (for-profit, not-for-profit) in early stage, which, for social mission, pursues social (including environmental) and financial values at the same time, by providing solutions to social problems of market economy, through innovation and application of management skills”.

A team of at least two(2) students or professionals including at least one(1) student of graduate business school or its graduate within 2 years, in HK, Taiwan, Japan and Korea.

Candidate

Winner teams of 2nd place and SIA award, if qualified, may be recommended to participate in GSVC Final.

For this Forum, Social Enterprise is defined as “all the activities as well as businesses (for- profit, not-for-profit), organizations and institutions in civil sector, which pursue social (including environmental) and financial values at the same time, by providing solutions to social problems of market economy, through innovation and application of management skills.”
